Could Arsenal Be Edging Closer to Dream Move for Vinicius Junior?
In another major twist to the biggest transfer story of the summer, Vinicius Junior’s potential move to Arsenal could be back on after Real Madrid are now reportedly open to the possibility of the Brazilian leaving.
It has been a busy time for the Premier League champions, as the Gunners have agreed a deal for Newcastle United captain Bruno Guimaraes. Could his Brazilian teammate join him at the Emirates Stadium?
Is the Brazilian Heading for London?
If recent reports from Spain are to be believed, Vinicius turned down a contract offer at Real Madrid and could leave the Santiago Bernabeu this summer. The deal was huge, but the lure of the English Premier League could be too good to turn down.
Real Madrid are now open to letting Vini go, but only if the price is right. There was no agreement on the previous deal, and the Spanish giants have reluctantly upped their offer. However, this is likely to be their final proposal.
Arsenal are ready to break the bank for the winger, and the capture would send out a real signal of intent to their Premier League title rivals. Vini is one of the best in the world, and he would only bolster the champions’ ranks.
Bruno On the Way
One deal that could be done and dusted soon is the Guimaraes move. The Gunners have reached a provisional agreement with Newcastle for a £77m (plus add-ons) move for their popular captain.
Guimaraes expressed his desire to leave St James’ Park during the 2026 FIFA World Cup break. With boss Eddie Howe jumping ship, the Brazilian looks nailed on to move away this summer.
The London club have reportedly set a date for Guimaraes’ medical, and the midfielder could be named an Arsenal player next week.
Arsenal face Manchester City in the FA Community Shield before kicking off their Premier League title defence with a home fixture against last season’s EFL Championship champions Coventry City on Friday, 16th August.
