Manchester United have reiterated that captain Bruno Fernandes is staying at Old Trafford amid transfer noise.

The Portugal international has been linked with a move away from the Premier League, with Turkish giants Galatasaray said to be interested.

Fernandes Not for Sale

Reports this week claimed that Galatasaray were ready to up their pursuit of the Man United skipper. Fernandes is in the final year of his contract at Old Trafford, but United could extend his deal.

The Man United fans may have been fearing the worst, but their concerns have been eased after the club expressed that they have no desire to sell their beloved captain.

United were seemingly ready to let their main man leave in a big-money transfer last summer, with Saudi Arabian side Al Hilal linked with a £100m deal.

Last season’s Premier League Player of the Year remains a huge figure in England’s top tier. Despite turning 32 next month, Fernandes is still one of the best midfielders in world football.

United’s No. 8 broke the EPL assist record and was named the FWA Footballer of the Year last season.

Can United Challenge for the Big Trophies?

Michael Carrick did an exceptional job at Old Trafford last season, guiding the Red Devils into the UEFA Champions League against all odds.

The Manchester giants have made some shrewd signings in the transfer window, with the likes of Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans arriving. A few more could enter the building before the window shuts.

However, their best bit of business was keeping hold of their talismanic captain. Fernandes was instrumental last season and seems to be getting better with age.

While Arsenal, Manchester City, and Liverpool are expected to battle it out for the Premier League title, Carrick’s boys could be a dark horse.
