Aston Villa Eyeing Up AC Milan Man Rafael Leao

AC Milan’s Rafael Leao has emerged as a potential transfer target for Unai Emery’s Aston Villa.
After losing several key players in the summer and starting their Premier League season with a heavy defeat at Brighton & Hove Albion, Villa need recruits at Villa Park, and Leao would be a top signing.
Leao Ready for New Challenge?
Aston Villa are reportedly ready to make a move for Milan winger Leao, who featured for Portugal at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
In a recent interview, Leao said he was ready for a new challenge, with a potential move to the Premier League or La Liga appealing. Naturally, the news put many clubs on red alert.
Can Villa Win the Race?
According to recent reports, Leao would welcome a move to Villa Park, and a £45m fee has been mentioned.
Of course, the UEFA Europa League winners could face fierce competition from elsewhere, with Juventus, Al Hilal, and Galatasaray also showing interest in the 27-year-old.
Emery Desperately Needs Recruits
Despite winning the Europa League and finishing fourth in the Premier League, the mood at Villa Park at the start of this season is subdued to say the least.
Villa lost a host of key men this summer, with Morgan Rogers, Ezri Konsa, and Youri Tielemans moving on.
To make matters worse, the Villans kicked off their Premier League campaign with an embarrassing loss at Brighton on Sunday. Emery’s men never got going at the Amex Stadium and were 4-0 down after 31 minutes.
An eighth-minute Victor Lindelof own goal sent the Seagulls on their way. Jack Hinshelwood scored two goals in a minute after Maxim De Cuyper had doubled Brighton’s advantage.
Villa looked disjointed at the Amex, and the Europa League champions were a shadow of the team that ended last season so strongly. Recruits are a must, and a player with Leao’s ability would certainly fit the bill.
