Aston Villa’s Ezri Konsa is being heavily linked with a move away from Villa Park, with Arsenal and Liverpool reportedly ready to battle it out for the England international’s signature.

Villa are reluctant to lose their superstar centre-back, but the lure of a Premier League title challenge could be too good for Konsa to turn down.

Where Will Konsa End Up?

Konsa is a wanted man after a superb season for Aston Villa and England. The 28-year-old was excellent for the Three Lions in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, helping his nation finish in third in North America.

Konsa made 48 league and cup appearances in the heart of Villa’s defence last term. He ended the campaign with the UEFA Europa League trophy and helped his team secure fourth in the Premier League.

Konsa has been heavily linked with a transfer away from Villa Park this summer, potentially joining the likes of Morgan Rogers and Youri Tielemans through the exit door.

Liverpool’s interest has spiked after Joe Gomez’s pre-season injury. Andoni Iraola is desperate to bolster his ranks in defence, and the new Reds boss is said to be a big admirer of Konsa.

Arsenal are also keen to add to their star-studded squad, and the England international would be a great addition for the Premier League champions.

Could the Defender Stay at Villa Park?

Unai Emery will not want to lose any more of his star players. Rogers has made the switch to Stamford Bridge, while Tielemans has headed for Old Trafford. Many faces have already come and gone at Villa Park this summer.

Konsa is a huge player for the Villans, and Emery remains adamant that the England star will stay at the club. However, money talks, and Konsa could be swayed by a move to one of the Premier League’s big boys.

It will be fascinating to see whether Villa’s No. 4 will be in the starting XI when the new EPL season kicks off in two weeks. The Europa League holders take on Brighton & Hove Albion at the Amex Stadium on matchday one.
