Arsenal Heavy Odds On For Premier League Title After City Defeat

Arsenal are now as short as 2/9 to retain their Premier League title after Man City’s 3-1 defeat to Nottingham Forest.
Gunners Too Hot to Handle
The Gunners began the day just three points clear of City, heading into what looked like an easy home game on paper against newly promoted Hull.
But the hosts were frustrated for large periods, with Declan Rice and Noni Madueke both going close as Mikel Arteta’s side dominated possession and territory.
Hull held firm until the 72nd minute, when Martin Odegaard tucked away a rebound in the penalty area to give Arsenal a deserved win that took them six points clear and piled all the pressure on Man City’s trip to the City Ground in the evening kick-off.
Sluggish City Punished on the Trent
Enzo Maresca’s City started the campaign with seven consecutive victories to open up a three-point cushion at the top of the Premier League table in mid-October.
But after back-to-back defeats to Brighton and Aston Villa, they had relinquished their advantage and were playing catch up just three weeks later.
They started poorly at the City Ground, with Jair Cunha and Liam Delap giving Forest a 2-0 lead and a dream start inside 20 minutes.
Rayan Cherki pulled a goal back early in the second half, but former City striker to condemn City to a third straight defeat.
And the writing already looks on the wall for City, who are priced at around 10/1 to win the title, with Brighton and Liverpool (both 14/1) just behind them.
With a trip to Arsenal just three weeks away, City’s title chances are now hanging by a thread.
