Arsenal Duo Set For New Contracts

Arsenal midfielders Declan Rice and Martin Odegaard are set to sign new long-term deals with the Premier League champions.
The news comes after manager Mikel Arteta this week committed himself to the north London club until at least 2030.
New Deal Delight For Declan
Rice’s current deal is set to expire at the end of the 2027/28 season.
But the 27-year-old’s new contract is set to put his earnings on par with Bukayo Saka, taking his current £240,000 weekly salary up to around £350,000.
Rice has been an integral part of the Arsenal side since joining from West Ham for a club record fee of around £105 million in the summer of 2023.
He has gone on to make 165 appearances for the Gunners, scoring 21 goals.
Skipper Sticking Around
Another man set to put pen to paper on a new deal is Martin Odegaard, whose current contract expires at the same time as midfield colleague Rice.
The Norwegian has been a major part of Arsenal’s resurgence under boss Arteta, impressing initially during a loan spell from Real Madrid.
He made the move permanent in the summer of 2021, and following the departures of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette at the end of the season, he was made captain.
The Gunners have gone from strength to strength since then, culminating in their Premier League triumph in the 2025/26 season.
Deals Still to be Done
News of Rice and Odegaard’s renewals will be a relief to Arsenal fans, but there are still a clutch of players with less than two years remaining on their deals.
Kai Havertz, the club’s second-highest earner behind Saka, and right-back Ben White, both have deals expiring in fewer than 20 months’ time and are likely to be offered fresh terms.
