Champions League Predictions Today: Sides

Paris Saint-Germain to Win In Full Time (2.60):Paris Saint-Germain dominated the first leg of their quarterfinal matchup against Liverpool. They owned a 6-0 advantage in shots on target and an 18-3 edge in shot attempts overall. The only positive Liverpool can take out of the match is that they only enter this match down a pair. Liverpool has home field here but that might not make a ton of difference.

The Reds find themselves at a major disadvantage here. Liverpool did get back in the win column as they blanked Fulham by a 2-0 score over the weekend. That means that Arne Slot’s key players were unable to get a much-needed respite. Meanwhile, PSG had their Ligue 1 matchup against Lens postponed. That gives the visitors the rest and training edge here. Liverpool just looks spent at this stage. Paris Saint-Germain wins the match to lock up the tie.

Barcelona to Win in Full Time (1.76): Barcelona finds themselves trailing 2-0 on aggregate after being blanked in the opening leg. There was some controversy involved as Barcelona complained to UEFA about the officiating in the match last week. Trailing by a pair of goals, one has to think Barcelona will be aggressive from the jump here. We know how explosive Barcelona can be offensively. They lead La Liga with 84 goals in their 31 matches this season. With their backs to the wall, they’ll be pressing and generating offensive chances. Barcelona should win the match, though it remains to be seen if they can advance.

Champions League Best Bets Today: Other

Barcelona to Win and Both Teams to Score (2.34): We already talked about why we see Barcelona winning in this one. They are an explosive offensive side and they play with their foot on the gas for a full 90 minutes. The flip side of that is that they tend to give the opposition chances. Their aggressive attacking style leads to some breaks when they turn the ball over. Trailing by a pair of goals, Barcelona turns the pressure up to 11. That leads to some miscues that allow Atlético Madrid to counterattack. With Barcelona recording only 12 clean sheets in 31 La Liga matches and none in Champions League play, both teams to score is a safe play.

Robert Lewandowski, Barcelona Anytime Goal Scorer (2.00): In five meetings between the sides this season, Barcelona has tallied 10 goals. Lewandowski tallied in the La Liga matchup between the sides April 4. He has 12 goals in 25 La Liga matches this season and we know how dangerous he is offensively. Lewandowski and his teammates will be pressing throughout this contest. Yamal and Dani Olmo should be out there with him, giving a dangerous trio upfront. We know Lewandowski can score. His team needs all the offense it can get here, so look for him to get the job done.

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Paris Saint-Germain Anytime Goal Scorer (2.66): One thing that we’ve seen in spades in Champions League play is the emergence of Kvaratskhelia as an offensive threat. He has just four goals in 23 Ligue 1 matches for Paris Saint-Germain but has been lights out here. Kvaratskhelia has eight goals on the ledger in 12 Champions League matches. That includes tallying the second goal for PSG in the 65th minute of the first leg last week. With the way PSG dominated the first leg, it would be no surprise to see Kvaratskhelia score again here.
