Why did you decide to become a sports journalist?
I used to love commentating on my own FIFA matches on the PlayStation, and when my dreams of becoming a footballer began to fade in my mid-teens, I naturally gravitated towards journalism and never looked back.
How do you research and verify the information in your articles?
The age of the internet has given us so much data, so I’m always looking at historical match-ups between sides to help discover trends. Data relating to corners, cards, and general form give me a great deal of value when compiling profitable bets for readers.
What is most important for you when writing sports content?
When it comes to betting content in particular, I enjoy backing up my predictions with stats and data points. If the numbers back it up and the price represents value, you have all the ingredients of a profitable bet.
How do you stay up to date with sports and leagues you cover?
If you’re passionate about something, staying up to date is easy. I am regularly on the pulse of social media and try to watch as many sport as possible. Data is one thing, but nothing beats the eye test.
Do you have any direct experience in sports (playing, coaching, officiating, or analytics)?
When my knees allow me to, I play five-a-side football as often as I can, and am also a cricketer in his local county league. Just don’t ask about my average.
