Eye vs. Calvillo betting breakdown
Eye and Calvillo represent good, straight-up value to their backers.
Bettors can take the moneyline at a square price and dabble in a FanDuel prop bet if they have similar opinions to what’s expressed on the board. FanDuel Sportsbook is also offering first and last round insurance, and odds boosts like “Jessica Eye to win by points.”
The women’s fights on UFC cards have been going the distance since the circuit returned on May 9. That’s reflected in the over-under of 4.5 rounds of this five-rounder being -220. The under is +170.
Calvillo by points is +200 and Eye is +165. Bettors who think their fighter will win by decision get a better deal on the prop than on the moneyline.
If you are thinking contrarian, and that one of these female bouts is due to end inside the limit, Eye is +650 for a K0/TK0. Calvillo is +1200.
Eye is ranked number one in the flyweight division, one weight class higher than the strawweight class Calvillo fights in. Calvillo is 10th in that division.
Eye has won four of her last five. The only setback was a definitive second round knockout loss to Valentina Shevchenko last year. Shevchenko is the flyweight division champ.
Eye scored a victory in her last fight, a decision over Viviane Araujo in December. She also has a 2018 win over Katlyn Chookagian, the No. 2 flyweight.
Calvillo fought to a draw with Marina Rodriguez last December.
Vettori vs. Roberson betting breakdown
The co-main event has grudge-match implications.
Vettori and Roberson were supposed to fight on April 25, but the card was canceled because of the pandemic. It was rebooked for May 13 in Jacksonville, Florida, but complications from a bad weight cut forced Roberson to withdraw the night before the fight.
That incensed Vettori, who confronted Roberson in the lobby of the host hotel the following day. Fortunately for the fighters, they did not battle for free on that occasion. They will be paid here.
Will they me more motivated than usual? Will a points victory be not enough?
Intangibles in this fight include Vettori and Roberson paying 32-1 for a KO/TKO in round three.
Vettori is +550 to win by submission. That’s how he’s won 62% of his fights.
The best of the rest
Fili has gone the distance in seven of his last eight and has dropped his last three UFC main card fights when favored, as he is here. Jourdain is entertaining, and a good finisher. His odds of a KO/TKO are shorter at FanDuel, +380 vs +600 for Fili.
The board says Fili has a stronger chance to win a decision, Jourdain has a better chance to win by stoppage if he prevails.
Dvalishvili has a five-inch reach advantage over Borg. But he also has prohibitive moneyline odds and a low knockout percentage in a fight that is projected to go the distance. His backers almost have no play.
Borg has lost three of his last five. The fighters have common foes. Both lost to Ricky Simon. Dvalishvili has a win over Casey Kenney, who beat Borg.
Espinosa and De La Rosa have lost their last five fights combined. Someone will get healthy, but whom?
