The No. 4-seed UConn Huskies (-7.5) beat the No. 5-seed San Diego State Aztecs XX-XX to win their fifth national championship.

On Saturday, UConn continued its dominant run through March Madness in a win over Miami, while San Diego State hit the first-ever game-winning buzzer beater while trailing in Final Four history. The NCAA Tournament’s conclusion is now live on CBS. Below, find live March Madness odds updates, news, and scores throughout the title game.

National Championship Live Updates: UConn Vs. SDSU Alerts & Analysis

UConn opened as a -6 favorite briefly to win its fifth NCAA championship in men’s basketball. That number didn’t last long, topping out as high as -8.5 midweek. San Diego State is seeking its first-ever college basketball national championship to cap off its first-ever Final Four and Elite Eight appearance. The over/under also opened around 131 points, which was also bet up throughout the week.

UCONN WINS 2023 NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP

The No. 4 UConn Huskies beat the No. 5 San Diego State Aztecs 76-59 to win the 2023 NCAA Tournament. Tristen Newton (19-10-4) and Adamas Sonogo (17-10-1) notched double-doubles. Sonogo wins the tournament most outstanding player. It’s UConn’s fifth national championship in program history.

UCONN ON THE DOORSTEP OF TITLE NO. 5

SAN DIEGO STATE ENDS 9-0 UCONN RUN

The Aztecs again went dry from the field, going four minutes without a field goal. Darrion Trammel put an end to the drought, hitting a jumper to bring the game to 12. Under two minutes remain.

NEWTON, SONOGO ON DOUBLE-DOUBLE WATCH

Tristen Newton (15 points, 10 rebounds) notched a double-double with 2:30 left in the game while Adama Sonogo (15 points, 9 rebounds) stands just one board away from joining him.

IT’S A SPRINT TO THE FINISH LINE BETWEEN UCONN, SDSU

The Aztecs closed the gap to just five points after trailing by as many as 16 in the national championship game. At the under-4 minute media timeout, UConn (-7.5) leads by 8. The live total stands at 138.5 (-110) and SDSU is +900 on the moneyline to pull off an improbable comeback.

NOT SO FAST! SDSU BACK WITHIN REACH

UConn climbed to as high as -20000 on the moneyline up double digits in the second half, but SDSU has stormed back. Five minutes remain in the national championship game with a tight finish likely on the way.

SDSU GETS SPREAD UNDER 10 POINTS

For the first time since the closing number, San Diego State is shorter than +10 after a quick scoring run. All of a sudden, we have a tight ballgame in Houston with 7:30 left.

UCONN GOES 0-FOR-4 ON CRITICAL POSSESSION

In a position to put the game even further out of reach, UConn went 0-for-4 as a team from the field and came up empty. San Diego State took the ball down the court and scored, potentially a 5-point swing. The Huskies are just 4-for-14 from the field to open the second half.
