Tyson Fury – Deontay Wilder Odds Analysis
Fury is 6’9″, the only boxer the 6’7″ Wilder hasn’t enjoyed a height and reach advantage against. Fury dominated both fights from a rounds-won standpoint, but Wilder stole the first-fight draw with two thunderous knockdowns in the final rounds.
Fury dominated the second fight, which was stopped by Wilder’s trainer Mark Breland. It ended Wilder’s five-year reign as a heavyweight champ. Wilder then changed trainers, tabbing Malik Scott, whom he once knocked out. It was considered a downgrade. A change for change’s sake.
So far, the series looks like good big man being beaten by a bigger man.
Many trilogies will have at least one decision verdict. This trilogy has a draw and a TKO.
Each fighter has felt the other’s power. Will some timely caution play in?
Of the 19 rounds between them in two fights, Wilder has won very few of them. Will he try to tie up Fury, make the fight ugly and seek to steal a decision?
Or is he simply gassed in late rounds and too small for Fury?
Tyson Fury – Deontay Wilder Odds: DraftKings Props
Wilder’s backers will take the obvious moneyline at a good price. After that, the board is loaded with opportunities. Watch the changing lines. The over-under dropped “sharply” from 8.5 to 7.5 at Draft Kings, on Tuesday.
“When we move a line, it’s usually one of two things, money or sharp action,” Johnny Avello, the director of race and sportsbook operations for DraftKings, told TheLines. “When you see a move like this, it’s sharp action.”
Heavy bettors see the fight as shorter than 8.5 rounds. The last bout ended in seven, with Wilder’s first loss. Fury is undefeated.
