NFL Draft Odds Point To Cleveland Browns Selecting Travis Hunter With No. 2 Pick

The NFL draft is creeping closer, and some of the early picks are coming into focus. It seems all but a formality that Cam Ward will go No. 1 overall to the Titans. NFL draft odds have zeroed in on Travis Hunter as the likely No. 2 pick.
Let’s dive into the latest news and see why Travis Hunter draft props have moved significantly over the past few days.
browns’ nfl draft Odds Favor Travis Hunter Over Field
Throughout most early parts of 2025, Abdul Carter was considered the likely top pick among non-QBs. Some pundits even projected him No. 1 overall after comments from Tennessee’s brass seemed to hint at targeting the most talented players rather than a QB.
A glance at Carter’s page on Grinding the Mocks shows he has slipped slightly.
That slip coincides with a tiny rise in Hunter’s stock. Many in the league view the two-way star and former Heisman winner as the top candidate to go to the Browns at No. 2, according to a recent report from The Athletic.
“There’s a growing belief around the league that Hunter is the favorite to go to the Cleveland Browns with the No. 2 pick, according to high-ranking executives and coaches,” Jeff Howe wrote. “The Browns have been high on Hunter throughout the process, according to sources.”
Now, the odds reflect that sentiment. Hunter has consensus odds around -300 (75% implied) to go No. 2.
Hunter has only visited with the top two teams, while Carter is taking visits as low as the Patriots (No. 4 pick). That lends further credence to the idea that Hunter will go No. 2.
Hunter A Superior Fit In Cleveland?
Carter and Hunter are widely viewed as equivalent talents, though Carter has a possible medical red flag hanging over him because of a stress reaction in his foot.
However, the Travis Hunter draft steam may come down to fit.
Carter has elite pass-rushing talent, but the Browns still have Myles Garrett after committing to him with a massive extension in the offseason. Despite the woes that landed the team the No. 2 pick, Cleveland finished fifth in Adjusted Sack Rate.
Cleveland has less depth at cornerback, where even starter Greg Newsome II has been rumored as a trade candidate. They need even more help at wide receiver, where Jerry Jeudy is the only bankable name on the depth chart.
Depending on how Cleveland views him, Hunter could help at either or both positions.
If the presumed Hunter/Browns marriage continues to warm up, expect these Travis Hunter draft odds to lengthen further in the coming weeks.
