TNF Week 14 Parlay Picks & Player Props: Lions Host Cowboys in Potential Playoff Decider
Thursday Night Football this week features the two top teams that are on the outside of the NFC playoff race. It's the 6-5-1 Dallas Cowboys facing the 7-5 Detroit Lions in what's essentially a do-or-die for both teams.
According to the NFL playoff picture analytics, the Cowboys will have a 39% chance of making the postseason with a win, while those chances will fall to just 9% if they lose tonight. Meanwhile, the Lions will have a 55% chance to make the playoffs with a win, versus a 20% chance if they lose.
Needless to say, it's a game with giant consequences and the whole football world will be watching.
Cowboys vs Lions
The Cowboys lead the all-time series by a 19-to-13 margin and won six straight games before Detroit's 47-9 rout last season. However, it's the game at the end of the season in 2023 that's fresh on Detroit head coach Dan Campbell's mind.
In a nail-biter, the Lions thought they had taken the lead with 23 seconds left, going for two down by one score after a trick play saw tackle Taylor Decker catch the two-point conversion. However, officials threw a flag on the play, claiming that it was Dan Skipper who reported as eligible, not Decker. That still gets under Campbell's skin today.
"I think more than anything, it just makes you mad, that's about it. But all good. If you're a fan, that was a heck of a game, I know that."
The Lions are still convinced that the referees got confused and Detroit was forced to settle for the #3 seed instead of earning the #1 seed and a first-round bye. Of course, they still made it to the NFC Championship game, losing an absolute heartbreaker to the San Francisco 49ers.
It's Game Time
Ahead of Thursday's contest, we've done our research to give you the best chance to win big. Take advantage of sportsbook promos to get maximum value for your picks tonight. Here are our favorite same-game parlays for Thursday Night Football.
📈 Odds via Caesars Sportsbook: Lions -3 (ML: Cowboys +140, Lions -170 | Over/Under: 54.5) 📈
MVP Candidate Goff is Back - Parlay
📊 Parlay Odds: +888 (via FanDuel) ⭐
- Leg 1: Jared Goff 300+ Passing Yards
- Leg 2: Jared Goff 3+ Passing Touchdowns
- Leg 3: Detroit Lions -3
- Leg 4: Over 54.5
While Jared Goff is no longer a realistic MVP candidate, few can argue about the incredible season he's having. Goff has a 110.2 quarterback rating, which is somehow slightly down from last season. His 25 touchdowns against five interceptions have not been enough as the Lions have lost a handful of close games this season.
Bet $5 Get $300 in Bonus Bets If Your Bet Wins! Getting swept by division rivals Green Bay can't be sitting well with Goff. While the Cowboys defense has looked much improved since Quinnen Williams and Logan Wilson arrived, they're still far from incredible. They let Mahomes throw for four touchdowns last week, and Goff could definitely do something better.
All-Out Passing Shootout - Player Prop Parlay
📊 Parlay Odds: +1400 (via DraftKings) ⭐
- Leg 1: Jared Goff 300+ Passing Yards
- Leg 2: Dak Prescott 300+ Passing Yards
- Leg 3: Jared Goff 3+ Passing Touchdowns
- Leg 4: Dak Prescott 300+ Passing Yards
This has all the makings of a total shootout. Both teams have explosive offenses and questionable defenses, especially in the red zone, where both teams rank in the bottom six of the league. Goff and Prescott are two of the best gunslingers in the league and they could let it all air out on Thursday Night Football tonight.
New Customers: Bet $5+ and get $300 in Bonus Bets if it wins! Defenses Wake Up - Parlay
📊 Parlay Odds: +650 (via Caesars Sportsbook) ⭐
- Leg 1: Under 54.5
- Leg 2: Detroit Lions -3
- Leg 3: Dak Prescott Under 1.5 Passing Touchdowns
- Leg 4: Dak Prescott Under 272.5 Passing Yards
- Leg 5: CeeDee Lamb Under 82.5 Receiving Yards
- Leg 6: George Pickens Under 82.5 Receiving Yards
We strongly feel that any game where a defense stands out will go the way of the Lions. If the Lions can keep the explosive Cowboys passing attack even slightly at bay, this parlay has an extremely strong chance to hit.
Of course, a six-legger for +650 doesn't look very strong on paper. However, if the Lions keep Dak Prescott to under 272.5 passing yards, it's probable that every one of these legs hit by default.
