Vikings Injury Analysis

The Vikings will be playing without LB Blake Cashman. The offseason free-agent signee hurt his toe. He’ll likely be backed up by Brian Asamoah II, which figures to be a considerable downgrade, particularly when considering run fits against a high-level Rams rushing attack led by Kyren Williams.

It’s possible TE T.J. Hockenson could return this week. The Vikings opened his practice window last week. Even if he does return from the torn ACL he suffered last season, the team figures to bring him along slowly. He’d likely be on a snap count, so don’t go hunting for Hockenson overs the second he’s announced in.

Rams Injury Analysis

The Rams will be celebrating the return of Cooper Kupp. It sounds like the slot ace is ready to roll, as he doesn’t have an injury designation after missing multiple games hurt. Matthew Stafford has missed him greatly, as the Rams rank a shocking 22nd in EPA/play generated through the air.

LB Troy Reeder is out. He’s backed up by a pair of undrafted free agents, so there will be a dropoff there.

WR Jordan Whittington is also out. However, his presence won’t be missed as much when Kupp returns.

Starters on IR here include G Jonah Jackson, S John Johnson III, G Steve Avila, and WR Puka Nacua.
