Patriots Injury Analysis
The Patriots remain incredibly thin on the offensive line. Of what was supposed to be their starting group, only Onwenu and Andrews remain, and both players are hobbled by injury and may not play. Still, it hasn’t affected them too terribly much as their 4.7 YPA rushing is 13th in the NFL.
Additionally, their linebacking corps got hit hard last week. Ja’Whaun Bentley and Oshane Ximines are both out for an extended period following injuries sustained against the Seahawks.
Jets Injury Analysis
The Jets are a bit healthier, but they did see some starting defenders go down in Week 2. EDGE Jermaine Johnson tore his Achilles, so he’s definitely out. LB C.J. Moseley did not practice this week, so he’s likely going to miss this game as well.
If Haason Reddick were back in the fold, the Jets wouldn’t have to worry too much about the Johnson injury. However, he’s still holding out, so that will push former first-rounder Will McDonald IV into a starting gig. The Jets will hope he’s ready for the promotion.
Overall, this defense looks a lot less scary than it did on paper heading into the season.
