Packers Injury Analysis

The main concerns here revolve around CB Jaire Alexander and WR Romeo Doubs.

Alexander is recovering from a multi-week absence due to a knee injury. He has logged two limited practices to start the week. Considering he was missing practice in prior weeks, that’s probably a good sign that he will go for this extremely important matchup. The Packers need him against the elite threats posed by wideouts Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jameson Williams.

Doubs is still in concussion protocol. He has missed time but also logged limited practices. His status seems a little more uncertain, so watch out here. If he practices again on Wednesday, he should be good to go, which would significantly affect target share in this offense.

Rookie LB Edgerrin Cooper will likely miss the game with a hamstring injury. He missed the first two practices of the week. The Packers do have acceptable depth here, but not with Isaiah McDuffie and Eric Wilson.

Lions Injury Analysis

The Lions’ defense continues to get hammered by injury.

DLs D.J. Reader, Josh Paschal, and Levi Onwuzurike have yet to practice. Reader was a big-ticket offseason pickup, and Onwuzurike is one of his backups but plays pretty frequently as part of the rotation.

The situation is even worse at EDGE. Thanks to Aidan Hutchinson, John Cominsky, and Marcus Davenport on season-ending IR, Pascal is already pressed into service as a starter. There’s no more depth left here. Za’Darius Smith would be the only decent edge rusher remaining on the roster.

Lions coach Dan Campbell said he doesn’t feel good about LT Taylor Decker’s availability. He missed the first two practices of the week. That would leave Dan Skipper as the starter in his stead. Skipper started last week against the Bears. He earned poor grades from PFF in his two spot starts this year.
