Cowboys Injury Analysis

The poor start for the Cowboys can’t really be blamed on injury. Jake Ferguson has been the only significant starter to go down, and he returned in Week 3 to post six for 95 in a largely garbage-time effort. He looked a little ginger at times but should be back close to 100% this week.

Demarcus Lawrence popped up on the estimated Monday practice as did fifth-round rookie CB Caelon Carson, pressed into duty due to DaRon Bland’s IR stint. Keep an eye on those as Thursday draws closer to see if this Cowboys defense winds up a little short-handed.

Giants Injury Analysis

IDL Dexter Lawrence hurt his foot. The superstar pass rusher is a major difference-maker, especially on a team that seriously lacks in secondary talent. The Giants can’t really afford to miss their pass rush, as that’s the heart of their defense. New York estimated him as a limited participant on Monday, so he’ll likely be OK, but monitor.

Starting Giants CB Dru Phillips was ruled out on Wednesday. He normally lines up in the slot. Fellow CB Adoree’ Jackson likewise, although he’s a backup on the outside. Covering CeeDee Lamb will likely be up to second-year man Deonte Banks.

This one won’t be one to monitor, as Graham Gano is on IR, but keep in mind the Giants are also running a backup kicker out there. They signed Greg Joseph as an emergency option, and while he nailed all three of his extra points against the Browns, he did miss his only field goal.
