Rams Injury Analysis

Starting CB Cobie Durant has yet to practice, and it looks like he’ll miss this game. The 49ers receiving corps isn’t what it used to be, but being without a solid starting CB would be a blow to this defense. The Rams have some depth here with Akhello Witherspoon and former first-rounder Emmanuel Forbes.

It looks like the pass-catching group will take a hit as well. Starting TE Davis Allen hasn’t practiced, but Colby Parkinson shouldn’t be too much of a drop-off. Receivers Demarcus Robinson and Jordan Whittington haven’t practiced either, so there will be more snaps for Tyler Johnson and Tutu Atwell.

49ers Injury Analysis

The 49ers have been ravaged by injury, with stars Christian McCaffrey, Brandon Aiyuk, and Javon Hargrave on IR. G Jon Feliciano joins them.

In addition, the statuses of elite linemen Nick Bosa and Trent Williams remain in the air. Neither played a snap last week, and neither has practiced this week. However, being the 49ers, it’s tough to say what that means. Bosa has already had one game where he said he likely wouldn’t play and then wound up going.

The running back room also may see yet more turnover. Isaac Guerendo hurt his foot, and he was already filling in for both McCaffrey and Jordan Mason. An absence here would leave Patrick Taylor Jr. and Israel Abanikanda, both former practice squad fodder, to fill in.

A final piece of good news on the horizon is that the 49ers estimated LB Dre Greenlaw as a limited participant. It seems doubtful he would play this week, but the team said there’s a chance.
