It was the first media company to release a sportsbook in NJ, and is now making a name for itself across the US. The app stands out for its ability to switch between sports media and betting at the click of a button, making it easy to view upcoming games, read sports stories and place your bets under one roof.

TheScore was named “Best Online Mobile Sports Betting Experience” at the Cynopsis Sports Media Awards in 2020, and is expected to launch more sites as sports betting laws continue to change.

When you sign up to theScore, you’ll receive a two-part welcome offer from the sportsbook. The first is a first-deposit match bonus that unlocks as cash back up to $1,000, followed by a $500 protected bet. Learn how to claim the welcome offer and find out more about the site here.

What’s great about theScore Bet:

  • Cash-back bonus offer when you make a deposit.
  • Insured first bet.
  • Award-winning sportsbook.
  • Pregame and live betting across all the biggest sports.

TheScore sportsbook bonus details

When you sign up to theScore Bet in the US, you’ll receive a first-deposit match up to $1,000, which unlocks as cash back. This means that when you make a deposit, you’ll receive a bonus balance. The sportsbook will then gradually unlock the balance by giving you 5% cash back on every bet you make in your first 60 days on the site, up to $1,000. This offer is applicable to bets with odds of -300 or greater, and you’ll receive cash back regardless of your bet’s outcome.

In addition, every new players’ first bet will be protected. Simply place a bet of up to $500, and if it loses, the sportsbook will refund your wager. If it wins, you can continue to bet (and withdraw) as normal. This offer applies only to your very first bet.

Other promotions at theScore Bet

TheScore tends to swap and change its promotions pretty quickly, but we understand there’s a number of exclusive and personal bonuses available to you once you download the app and create an account.

The current main promotion, other than the welcome offer, is parlay protection. When you place a parlay of four or more legs, you’ll be insured up to $10. If your bet loses, you’ll receive a refund up to $10.

Downloading theScore’s app

To wager at theScore, you’ll need to download the sportsbook app. This is available to download for free on Apple and Android devices and works well across smartphones and tablets.

It’s important to note that the company has two apps currently available in the US. TheScore gives users access to sports news, media and listings, while theScore Bet is the sportsbook. The app is currently available to those in New Jersey, Colorado, Indiana and Iowa. Alternatively, you can register for the email list to find out when the sportsbook plans to launch in your state.

To get started, click on the sportsbook link on this page to head over to the site. Click to download the app on iOS or Android, and follow the onscreen instructions. If you’re an Android user, you’ll need to head into your settings and allow downloads from unknown sources before getting started.

About theScore Bet app

This sportsbook app was created when theScore partnered with Bet.Works. The app is integrated with the original theScore product, meaning you can switch between sports media and betting. This combination opens up a world of opportunities for sports bettors.

First, any preferences you save (or have already saved) with theScore will automatically sync with theScore Bet. You can also build your bets in the TheScore app, then quickly switch over to the Bet product in order to place them.

TheScore prides itself on the amount of betting information available to its users, so you’ll be able to access statistics, trends, past scores and live odds movement on all your favorite teams. We love that this sportsbook covers a huge range of pregame and live betting markets for all the top sports, as well as detailed bet tracking across all your wagers.

To get started, simply fund your account and use the app’s navigation bar to select your sport. From there, browse the games available to you and choose the outcome you want to bet on. The app lists spreads, totals and moneylines as default across most games, but you can scroll down to view alternative lines.

Use the tabs above to switch to the props menu, or to read up on theScore’s details of the game to make a well-educated bet. It’s also easy to access banking, promotions and support via buttons on the homepage.

How do I sign up for theScore Bet?

It’s easy to register for theScore Bet. The sportsbook is available via the app only, so start by clicking on the link on this page to head over to the site, and then download either the Apple or Android app. Once you’ve installed the app, open it and click to create an account. The sportsbook will need the following information in order to sign you up:

  • Full name
  • Date of birth
  • Email address
  • Social Security number
  • Mobile number
  • Address

You’ll then need to create a username and password for your account. TheScore will require access to your location to check you’re within a state where the app has launched and will verify your information using the last four digits of your Social Security number. You must be 21 or older to place sports bets in all of the states where theScore is legal.

Where is theScore Bet legal?

TheScore Bet first arrived in the US in New Jersey in 2019. It was the first media company to launch a sportsbook in the state, helped along the way by Monmouth Park Racetrack, which became the theScore’s land-based partner.

The app went live in Colorado shortly after, partnering with The Gilpin Casino, a subsidiary of Jacobs Entertainment. Indiana followed, the first state launched under theScore’s multi-state access agreement with Penn National Gaming, which then allowed it to go live in Iowa. The sportsbook has plans to expand into more states soon, pending approval and licenses from the applicable states. We could see it arrive in Michigan and Pennsylvania in the near future.

TheScore Bet software

TheScore Bet is powered by Bet.Works, a new software provider with an experienced team behind it. The app is very simple, meaning players only need to use menus at the top and bottom of the screen to move between pages.

Best features of theScore Bet sportsbook

TheScore has set out to create a distinct sportsbook that all sports fans will love, and it has a few features that stand out from the crowd. Here are our favorites:

  • Platform integration: This online sportsbook is linked with the original theScore app, meaning you’ll have access to news and behind-the-scenes info on your favorite sports while placing your bets. In turn, you’ll have all the information you need to place the most educated sports wagers possible.
  • All your favorite sports: TheScore offers a range of pregame and live markets across the NFL, NCAA, NBA, MLB and NHL. The sportsbook caters to a variety of sports fans, so you’re sure to find something that fits your betting style.
  • Bet slip handoff: You can build your bet slip in the original app from theScore and transfer it to the Bet app at the touch of the button, ready for you to add your wagers.
  • Cash-back tracker: Track your progress toward unlocking any bonus funds using the sportsbook’s cash-back tracker.

TheScore betting options

TheScore has covered pretty much all avenues with its sportsbook. You’ll find moneylines, totals, spreads, props, parlays, teasers and futures, among others. These apply across most sports on the app, meaning you have plenty of ways to make your wagers fit your preferences.

Start by choosing your sport using the navigation bar along the top of your screen. You can click to see more sports if you need to. As default, similar to most sportsbooks, the app will display spreads, totals and moneylines. You’ll be able to view the odds for each straight away.

Alternatively, scroll down the page to find other game lines. You can also use tabs to switch between props and game info. Click the green “Live” button in the navigation bar to view all events available for live betting. You’ll be able to scroll through and choose a game, then view all betting options open to you. Scores update quickly, and odds are updated alongside game changes to make sure you never miss anything.

Head over to the “Bet” tab at the bottom of the screen to view bets most suited to you, exclusive promotions based on your preferences and more. Head to the “My Bets” screen to access your bet tracker, where you can keep an eye on both ongoing and settled wagers.

Sports you can bet on at theScore

TheScore Bet prides itself on its range of options for betting, and we wouldn’t expect anything different from a sports news outlet of its size. You can bet on football, basketball, baseball, hockey, soccer and plenty more just from browsing the top navigation bar.

Available leagues include the NFL, NCAA football, the NBA, NCAA basketball, MLB, the NHL and more. The NFL, NBA and NHL receive particularly heavy coverage, though you’ll find plenty of betting options across all sports.

TheScore provides multiple ways for customers to deposit and withdraw, including credit card, e-wallet and online banking options. Here’s everything you need to know about banking at theScore Bet.

And if you’re in the area in New Jersey, you can withdraw in person at Monmouth Park Racetrack. This is by appointment only, so get in touch with the support team first. Contact information appears below. You will need to bring a form of state or government ID with you. The address is as follows: Monmouth Park Racetrack, 175 Oceanport Ave., Oceanport, New Jersey.

How to contact customer support

You shouldn’t come across too many problems at theScore Bet, but if you need to get in touch with customer support, it’s pretty easy. The app has a pretty good online FAQ you’ll be sent to by clicking the help button. It covers questions on how to bet, accounts, responsible gambling and banking.

The sportsbook doesn’t have a live chat option for now, but you can click the “Contact Us” button at the bottom of the screen to view other choices. Get in touch via email ([email protected]) or phone (1-855-916-0077).

History of theScore Bet

TheScore has a long betting history. It started out as a sports betting TV channel in 1994 — a simple text-based channel displaying scores, odds and news. It went on to broadcast events and other sports talk shows as the years went on.

In 2012, the company started to put a heavy focus on digital content and entertainment and launched its sports app to help fans keep an eye on upcoming games and news. The sports betting app launched in the US in 2019, when the company joined with Bet.Works.

The app arrived in New Jersey first, followed by Colorado in mid-September. When the company come to a deal with Penn National Gaming, it was able to expand into Indiana and Iowa. As sports betting laws across the country change, theScore has plans to launch more sites and reach a wider audience.
