Players Championship Odds, Picks, Predictions: Final Bets, Betting Card, OAD

PGA Tour golf continues with TPC Sawgrass taking center stage to host the 2025 Players Championship in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, this Thursday. Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy headline among The Players Championship bets this week, as John Haslbauer provides his favorite PGA Tour picks from the available golf odds. Below, you’ll find each player’s best odds at legal betting sites.
It’s my favorite golf viewing event of the year. The PGA Tour’s best converge at the famed TPC Sawgrass for the 2025 Players Championship. This event is home to some of the most iconic moments in the sport’s history, with many famous risk-reward holes. I can’t wait for the action to get started this Thursday.
This year, some slight modifications have been made to lengthen the course just beyond 7,300 yards. Adding a new tree to challenge players on their sixth-hole tee shot should only enhance viewing pleasure. Precise ball strikers with the intangible ability to elevate their games on golf’s biggest stages have consistently found themselves atop the leaderboard at this event.
Let’s go through all the bets I’ve placed for the 2025 Players Championship, without further ado.

HOW I BUILT MY Players Championship BETTING CARD
We may be in the eye of the storm with Scottie Scheffler, but for whatever reason, it doesn’t feel as inevitable as I thought it would that the twice-defending champion would assert his dominance yet again at the Players. Suppose he is still recovering from the hand injury. That should open the door for many contenders in the deepest field on tour, so I’ve opted to build a bigger card with exposure to proven veterans with great history on positional Bermuda layouts.
With all of that in mind, it’s back to business as usual for my weekly stake at The Players Championship:
- Outrights — 3.5U in to pay 25U each
- FRL — 0.5U in to pay out 10U+ each
- Full tournament matchups — 1U in to pay out 2U
- Props — 1.5U in to pay out 3U+ each

Ludvig Aberg
My bet: +2000
Best available odds: Ludvig Aberg +3000 on BetMGM
Any rumors of Aberg’s inability to close a big tournament have gone by the wayside since his impressive signature event win at the Genesis Invitational. Back to full health, Aberg’s ability to hit the driver on a line and sky his long iron approach shots make him a cheat code for any challenging golf course. He wasted no time acclimating to TPC Sawgrass, finishing eighth in his debut last year.
He’s always a consideration for me when accuracy is at a premium. Aberg should be able to channel a game plan similar to the one that brought him his first PGA Tour victory on another short, positional Bermuda layout in Sea Island Resort.

Tommy Fleetwood
My bet: +3500
Best available odds: Tommy Fleetwood +5000 on BetMGM
My featured spotlight player of the week, it seems like the “loveable losers” on the PGA Tour are having their moment in 2025. If Thomas Detry and Russell Henley can prevail on some of the PGA Tour’s most significant stages, then there’s no logical reason to doubt whether Fleetwood — a seven-time winner in Europe — can do the same.
Fleetwood has played some of his best golf in Florida, ranking in the top 20 in both SG: TOT (Florida Swing) and comp course history. He’s trending well leading up to this week with thirteen consecutive top-25 finishes. Fleetwood has missed just one cut at The Players since 2017. And a pair of top-10 finishes over that stretch suggests his game should translate well at TPC Sawgrass.
Sepp Straka
My bet: +7000
Best available odds: Sepp Straka +5000 on BetMGM
Probably the most popular, trendiest pick of the 2025 Players Championship, it’s hard to talk yourself out of betting on Sepp Straka this week, especially at the gaudy opening price. Straka checks all the boxes of course history (two top 16s over the last three years) and recent form (No. 3 in SG: TOT L16 & L36 rounds). Growing up on Bermuda greens in Georgia, Straka has played his best golf in this area and can lean on his precise driving and iron play to separate here.
Daniel Berger
My bet: +7000
Best available odds: Daniel Berger +20000 on BetMGM
I couldn’t quite get behind Daniel Berger at the Cognizant Classic, where he was the most popular bet of the week at 25-1 odds. That nearly came back to bite me before he fizzled to a respectable T25 finish. Despite this being a dramatically improved field, I’m not sure it’s justified for Berger’s price to have nearly tripled. He’s on a streak of four straight top-25 finishes now and returns to TPC Sawgrass, where he’s posted top-15 finishes in his last two appearances.
Adam Scott
My bet: +10000
Best available odds: Adam Scott +12000 on FanDuel
The disrespect for Adam Scott has gone too far. I never thought we’d see the former Players champion slip to triple-digit odds in this tournament, regardless of form. The form, however, has been good in his age-44 season!
Scott enters this week on a stretch of seven consecutive made cuts and has posted seven top-15 finishes at TPC Sawgrass throughout his career. This week, he ranks No. 7 in my model, a credit to his top-10 ranks in the key categories of par-5 scoring, birdie-or-better percentage, course history, and SG: ARG.
Michael Kim
My bet: +11000
Best available odds: Michael Kim +100000 on BetMGM
Arguably the hottest player on tour right now, this is a spot where we would have expected to sell high on Kim’s heater. However, sportsbooks seem unafraid to post this number. As such, Kim has become one of the most popular “low-risk” outright bets on the board at this number.
We’ll see what wins the recent form and course history battle at TPC Sawgrass. Kim ranks No. 1 in SG: TOT L16 amid this stretch of five consecutive T15 finishes. However, he’s finished no better than T60 in four career trips to TPC Sawgrass. Still, there is no question this is a different Michael Kim than we’ve seen come to the Players in years past.
Akshay Bhatia
My bet: +11000
Best available odds: Akshay Bhatia +11000 on FanDuel
It’s a bit of an eye-test bet for me here. I love Bhatia’s fit for TPC Sawgrass, given his creative shot-shaping ability, prowess on windy courses, and comfortability putting on Bermuda greens. His profile is eerily similar to Justin Thomas’ in those regards. And while Bhatia is still young and developing on the PGA Tour, he won’t be afraid of the big moment this week. He ranks No. 14 in SG: TOT (L36) with two top-10 finishes over his last three starts.
Nick Taylor
My bet: +17000
Best available odds: Nick Taylor +50000 on BetMGM
It’s been fun to watch Nick Taylor progressively rise from veteran journeyman to crunch-time hero. He is now one of the most feared golfers on tour in a playoff setting, a perfect 3-for-3 over his last three wins at the Sony Open, WM Phoenix Open, and RBC Canadian Open. That intangible skillset should translate to more success at TPC Sawgrass. He’s in elite form regarding SG: APP (No. 4) and SG: ball striking (No. 16).
Gary Woodland
My bet: +25000
Best available odds: Gary Woodland +250000 on DraftKings
This is a homer bet because I immensely love Gary Woodland. At 250-1 odds, it’s worth a shot for the former major champion to rekindle that magic. He’s found his vintage ball-striking form, ranking top-15 in both SG: APP and SG: ball striking, so he’ll need to sink a few more putts this week to find himself in contention at TPC Sawgrass.

Sepp Straka
My bet: +6000
Best available odds: Sepp Straka +3500 on FanDuel
Straka has been a machine to start the 2025 season, pounding fairways and greens in regulation at will. He ranks in the top 10 in recent form, SG: APP, SG: ball striking, par-5 scoring, and birdies-or-better gained, all encouraging signals for him to go low come Thursday.
Daniel Berger
My bet: +6000
Best available odds: Daniel Berger +6000 on BetMGM
Berger is always a threat to go low on familiar Florida Bermuda layouts, and TPC Sawgrass is no exception. Looking back to his vintage self now, Berger can separate on Thursday if he keeps up this ball-striking form and streaky Bermuda putting rate.
Aaron Rai
My bet: +8000
Best available odds: Aaron Rai +5000 on BetMGM
Regardless of circumstance, I will always bet Aaron Rai FRL, but this is an ideal setup for his game. Rai is elite in driving accuracy and mid-iron approach play, two premium skill sets to bring to TPC Sawgrass. He enters in great form with back-to-back top-11 finishes.
Nick Taylor
My bet: +9000
Best available odds: Nick Taylor +60000 on DraftKings
Taylor is the exact profile of player I’m looking for in a first-round leader candidate at TPC Sawgrass. He’s been above-average in driving accuracy to start 2025 and elite (No. 4) in SG: APP, two factors that should help him avoid trouble and generate ample birdie looks.
Tom Hoge
My bet: +15000
Best available odds: Tom Hoge +12500 on BetMGM
A tradition unlike any other, I will always have exposure to Tom Hoge in the FRL market at The Players, regardless of form. Hoge, the course record holder at TPC Sawgrass himself, successfully paced the field in the first round of the 2022 Players Championship and seems to have regained his elite approach form in recent weeks.
the players championship BETS: PROPS (2.5 UNITS)
Full Tournament Matchup: Adam Scott > J.J. Spaun
My bet: -110
I tend to be higher than the market on Adam Scott most weeks as sportsbooks remain unafraid of him amid his five-year winless drought. But be that as it may, it’s still a bit insulting to price Scott — a major champion and past Players champion — the same as J.J. Spaun.
Sure, Spaun is trending upward with his irons, but the law of averages would lead us to believe Scott is due for a better showing at TPC Sawgrass. From a course history standpoint, this is not a fair fight, as Spaun has finished no better than T64 over five career starts. Meanwhile, Scott has posted eight career top-15 finishes.
Top-20 Finish: Daniel Berger
My bet: +240
Best available odds: Daniel Berger +250 on BetRivers
All signs point toward Berger’s momentum staying on track this week, as he’ll come to TPC Sawgrass on a stretch of four consecutive top-25 finishes. Berger ranks No. 1 in comp course history and SG: TOT on Pete Dye courses, which suggests a high floor for the four-time PGA Tour winner on this ideal course fit.
Top-20 Finish: Taylor Moore
My bet: +500
Best available odds: Taylor Moore +450 on BetMGM
Taylor Moore is a bit of a Bermuda specialist, and I’m always drawn to him on the Florida Swing, especially considering he picked up his only PGA Tour win to date at the Valspar Championship. Moore has an underrated, well-rounded game from the tee to green and has made it through the cut in his last six starts with a pair of top-10 finishes.
Top-20 Finish: Erik van Rooyen
My bet: +900
Best available odds: Erik van Rooyen +800 on BetMGM
With the constant threat of water hazards making The Players one of the most volatile tournaments of the year, a field of this depth presents some worthwhile placement fliers at the bottom of the board. We have plenty of room for optimism in Erik van Rooyen’s case. He has a T13 at this event under his belt in 2022 and will come to TPC Sawgrass hot off a T9 finish in his latest start at the Cognizant Classic.
ONE AND DONE
My pick: Sepp Straka
It seemed a little crazy at the onset of this week to select Sepp Straka, priced at 70-1 outright odds, as my OAD selection in the highest purse event of the season. Especially so when considering he’ll have to take on world No. 1 and twice defending champion Scottie Scheffler. I expect Scheffler to command the highest ownership this week, but I’ll wait for a clear signal that Scheffler is back to his dominant self post-hand injury. So I will avoid him in this chalk situation and likely trot him out at the Masters or the Memorial.
The numbers don’t lie with Straka, as his outright price has nearly halved over this week. His course history is very good, with two top-16 finishes over the last three years. His recent form is spectacular, with a win and four additional top-15 finishes over his last six starts. This is a perfect course fit for Straka’s game, and as he continues to pile on PGA Tour wins, his confidence on big stages like these should also grow.
If not Straka, I would also consider playing Scottie Scheffler, Collin Morikawa, or Justin Thomas in OAD.
