US Open Third Round Predictions, Odds 2026: Medvedev & Alcaraz to Progress in Queens

The 2026 US Open at the famous USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in New York City continues with more terrific tennis action today.

We have reached the third round in Queens, with Carlos Alcaraz, Daniil Medvedev, and Aryna Sabalenka featuring today. Check out our US Open third round predictions and picks in this betting preview.

US Open Third Round Predictions

Aryna Sabalenka vs Kamilla Rakhimova

Sabalenka continues her US Open title defence with a third-round match against Kamilla Rakhimova today. As you would expect, the brilliant Belarusian is the overwhelming favorite to get the win and book her place in round four.

The No. 1 seed has been strong so far, winning both matches without dropping a set. In the previous round, Sabalenka got the better of Polina Iatcenko in just 54 minutes, winning both sets by six games to one.

Rakhimova beat Barbora Krejcikova in round one before easing to a two-set victory over Oksana Selekhmeteva in the last round. Her best Grand Slam was a quarterfinal in Australia last year, but her run in New York could come to an end today.

Daniil Medvedev vs Arthur Rinderknech

Medvedev continues his US Open charge with a third-round match against Arthur Rinderknech. The 2021 champion is looking to go far in the Big Apple once again.

Medvedev’s one and only Grand Slam victory came in New York five years ago. The world No. 8 has yet to drop a US Open set this year, seeing off Hugo Gaston and Sebastian Gorzny.

Rinderknech has beaten Sho Shimabukuro and Jaume Munar so far. The Frenchman is hoping to reach the US Open fourth round for a second successive season, but this will be a stern test.

Medvedev is the clear favorite with BetMGM, and the former US Open champion should have enough in the locker to get past the 31-year-old in round three. Medvedev is available at tennis odds of +160 to win by three sets to love.

Yibing Wu vs Carlos Alcaraz

Alcaraz has returned from injury with US Open victories over Roman Safiullin and Jaime Faria. The sensational Spaniard is looking for three wins in three in Queens when he faces Chinese player Wu Yibing in the third round.

All eyes were on Alcaraz’s opening game against Safiullin in New York. Without being at his brilliant best, the world No. 3 picked up a 3-0 win to start in style. In round two, the reigning US Open champion came from a set down to see off Faria.

Wu has eased past Australian duo Adam Walton and James Duckworth to reach the third round. However, facing the defending champion in round three will be a tough task for the 26-year-old.

Alcaraz has yet to set the world alight in New York, but he has quietly gone about his business and should be too hot for Wu to handle in this one. In their US Open third round predictions, many tennis bettors will back a routine win for the champion.
