Super Bowl LX Opening Odds: Patriots vs. Seahawks
It's all on the line this Sunday as the Seattle Seahawks and the New England Patriots do battle in Super Bowl LX at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California. This is a rematch of Super Bowl XLIX, which took place in Arizona just 11 years ago, with the Patriots winning 28-24 courtesy of the famous Malcolm Butler interception at the one-yard line.
Neither team was expected to do much of anything this season, with the Patriots finishing 4-13 in 2024 while many thought the Seahawks were in full rebuild mode after moving on from head coach Pete Carroll, quarterback Geno Smith, and wide receiver D.K. Metcalf. However, both of these teams and their first-year head coaches led their teams to blistering 14-3 regular-season records.
The Seahawks got the best out of quarterback Sam Darnold, and Jaxon Smith-Njigba was far and away the NFL's best offensive talent, catching 119 passes for 1,793 yards and 10 touchdowns. Their two-headed monster of Kenneth Walker III and Zach Charbonnet kept them well-balanced while their defense allowed a league-low 17.3 points per game.
In New England, second-year quarterback Drake Maye became an MVP candidate out of nowhere, forging a key relationship with new wide receiver Stefon Diggs, who had a 1,000-yard season after a horrible stretch with the Houston Texans. Maye led the NFL in several passing categories, including completion percentage (72%), yards per pass attempt (8.9), quarterback rating (113.5), and QBR (77.1).
The Seahawks offense has been incredible this postseason, averaging 36 points per game in their wins over NFC West rivals, the San Francisco 49ers and the Los Angeles Rams.
The New England defense has been just as impressive, allowing 8.6 points per game, though many will critique their schedule as they skirted by the heavily-injured Patriots, a CJ Stroud turnover machine in the Houston Texans, and the Denver Broncos without Bo Nix.
The New England offensive line has been worrisome, allowing five sacks in each game, ahead of their matchup against the number-one scoring defense in football.

Date: Feb. 8, 6:30 p.m. ET
How to Watch: NBC, Peacock
Spread: Seahawks -4.5; Opened: Seahawks -3.5
Money Line: Seahawks (-235); Patriots (+194)
Total: 45.5; Opened: 46.5
The Seahawks opened as 3.5-point favorites but have ballooned to 4.5 and even 5-point favorites at some sportsbooks after the public heavily backed Seattle. This is largely due to their impressive offensive performances in the NFC playoffs.
The money line opened at -190 in Seattle's favor and has been driven as high as -245 at one point. The odds have since dropped slightly to -235, though it's unclear whether or not more money will be piled on the Seahawks. It's believed that well over 70% of all bets are on Seattle to cover.
Sharps are also hammering the under, driving the total down a full point so far. Around 60% of all bets have slammed the under. This makes a lot of sense, given New England's fantastic playoff defense and Seattle's number-one regular-season scoring defense.
