While NFL Week 9 odds are on the move, there’s also been some fluctuation for Super Bowl 57 odds. Let’s hone in on the Super Bowl betting market, focusing on prices that have experienced a noticeable swing at BetMGM Sportsbook.

Notable Risers In Super Bowl Betting Odds

Seattle Seahawks (+10000 to )

It would make sense to call the Seahawks a “pretender” after four or five games. We are heading into Week 9 of the NFL season and have yet to see any regression hit this Seattle team. The Seahawks are 5-3 and currently in first place in the NFC West.

One of the key factors behind the surprise success of the Seahawks’ positive play is how their offensive line has played thus far, highlighted by the play of Charles Cross and Abraham Lucas. Enter emerging rookie RB Kenneth Walker who is averaging 21.7 touches for 109.7 yards and 1.3 TDs over his first three starts. Seattle could continue its impressive run on Sunday in Week 9, facing the Cardinals. Quarterback Geno Smith continues his career resurgence, ranking No. 3 among qualified quarterbacks in passer rating.

A long-shot dart here makes sense, as the NFC is wide open. If you’re a believer, the time to buy is now.

New Orleans Saints (+15000 to )

The positive touchdown regression finally hit for star RB Alvin Kamara in Week 8. The Saints have something going with Andy Dalton in the driver’s seat playing QB. New Orleans is just an all-around squad that is 11th in EPA defense and graded as the No. 6-graded offense in football by PFF.

San Francisco 49ers (+1500 to )

The odds did not change much here, but certainly worth noting. The 49ers have a complete team; they are getting it done offensively and defensively. A top pass rush and a dynamic offense have put the 49ers in a great position to win the NFC. The 49ers have the eighth-easiest remaining schedule in football.

The only thing that can harm San Francisco seems to be injuries. If healthy, the 49ers can compete with any team in the league.

Baltimore Ravens (+1600 to )

Despite the Ravens piling up an abundance of significant injuries against the Buccaneers, Lamar Jackson & Co. strung together a dominant second-half performance on the ground — en route to an immense win. Not only do they possess arguably the easiest schedule the rest of the way, but their front office also bolstered their linebacker corps by acquiring Roquan Smith from the Bears at the trade deadline.

Mind you, Baltimore is already in my futures portfolio from the preseason. Nevertheless, losing Rashod Bateman to season-ending Lisfranc surgery stunts an already-underwhelming group of wideouts.

In the short-term, Baltimore is a spread favorite at the Saints on Monday Night Football.

Notable Fallers In Super Bowl Betting Odds

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (+2000 to )

Those aforementioned Bucs have lost three consecutive games straight up while failing to cover in each of their five previous matchups. Hence, their Super Bowl betting odds have risen after opening the season with the second-shortest price tag (+750).

Tom Brady’s decline is a major factor, as the greatest quarterback of all-time has generated the 21st-rated Completion Percentage Over Expected (CPOE) in 2022. This passing metric adjusts for associated factors that make a pass more or less likely to be completed. He’s tallied the 30th-ranked completion percentage under pressure (31.0%) as well.

Luckily for Todd Bowles’ bunch, its next opponent is the Rams, which are reeling themselves. Tampa Bay is a spread favorite.

Green Bay Packers (+3000 to )

Carrying on the theme of aging QBs, four-time NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers has dropped three straight games for just the third time in his career. He ranks only two spots ahead of Brady in regards to CPOE, too.

However, Rodgers isn’t getting time behind a banged-up offensive line. His underwhelming receiving core is also failing to create much separation. But his Packers have an exploitable Lions’ secondary on deck, and they’re positioned as spread favorites.
