Super Bowl Betting

While NFL Week 4 odds are on the move, there’s also been some fluctuation for Super Bowl 57 odds. Let’s hone in on the Super Bowl betting market, focusing on prices that have experienced a noticeable swing at BetMGM Sportsbook.

Baltimore Ravens (+1800 to )

Not only did the Ravens bounce back in New England after blowing a 21-point lead to the Dolphins in Week 2, but Lamar Jackson is also firmly in the NFL MVP conversation. The 25-year-old signal caller owns the second-highest Dropback EPA thus far. He finds himself behind only Patrick Mahomes in that department.

As a result, Baltimore’s Super Bowl betting odds shortened to +1400. However, there’s still a rogue +1800 available at DraftKings Sportsbook. That number won’t last long if Jackson & Co. upset the Bills on Sunday, which I broke down in my NFL Week 4 betting guide.

Dallas Cowboys (+5000 to )

Although Dak Prescott is sidelined with his surgically-repaired right thumb, the Cowboys are 2-0 — both straight-up and against the spread — over the last two weeks. Cooper Rush has performed admirably in Prescott’s absence, and Dallas’ defense is delivering the league’s fourth-highest pressure rate.

Nevertheless, Dan Quinn’s unit ranks in the middle of the pack in EPA allowed per play. Couple that with the Eagles appearing to be the class of the NFC East. Hence, their long-term outlook doesn’t warrant a Super Bowl betting wager, especially with a tricky spot against the Commanders on deck.

New Orleans Saints (+4000 to )

Despite high expectations entering the 2022 campaign, the Saints have dropped consecutive games. Overall, their offense is producing the second-lowest EPA per play. Jameis Winston’s back issue certainly doesn’t aid that cause — on top of the fact that Michael Thomas (toe) and Alvin Kamara (ribs) have been banged up as well.

The departure of Sean Payton, who was widely regarded as one of the league’s premier offensive schemers, may represent the most underlying variable in that regard. Even though the defense has held its own, I wouldn’t touch these Super Bowl betting odds.
