Spain vs England bets

The Euro 2024 final kicks off Sunday at 3 p.m. ET, and I’ve picked out my best Spain vs. England bets for the big clash, using Expected Goals (xG) to highlight which team and players who we expect to perform well. I have bet one unit on each of the following selections unless stated otherwise on these Euro 2024 odds. England is on the three-way moneyline to win in regular time. Spain is . A draw after 90 minutes and stoppage time would result in these bets losing and the game continuing to Extra Time and a penalty shootout if still tied after that.

Best Spain Vs. England Bets

Spain to win (+150 or better)

After a month of drama, the Euro 2024 final has arrived on our doorstep. Pre-tournament favourites England take on my pre-tournament futures bet of Spain, who were +800 before a ball was kicked. And I’m siding with the Spanish in this one.

England have lost all three of their Knockout Stage games on xG if you take penalties out of the equation. They haven’t won a single game all tournament by more than 0.5 non-penalty xG, and I think their luck is due to run out.

Spain haven’t been perfect either, and have shown a mixed bag of results. They put in three consecutive dominant performances, heavily beating Italy, Albania and Georgia on xG on their way to the quarterfinals.

Their last two games might be cause for concern, as they fell to fairly sizeable xG defeats to both Germany and France – although these teams do represent much stronger opponents than England have faced.

I think Spain will edge this game and as such are happy to back them at generous odds of 6/4.

Both Teams To Score: No

The final represents a clash of two opposing styles. Spain have created the fourth most xG per ninety of any team at the tournament, and the second most of any team who made it through to the Knockout Stage – only Germany accumulated more. Meanwhile, England have the best defensive record of any team, conceding just 0.74(xG) per ninety minutes.

So, what will happen when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object? Well, I think this will be a cagey game. Finals often are, and we regularly see the finale of tournaments end with low xG numbers for both sides.

England’s inability to create scoring chances mean there’s a strong chance they don’t hit the back of the net, while there’s always a chance their strong defence prevents Spain doing so as well.

A goalless draw probably isn’t a bad bet in this game, either.

Best of luck with your Spain vs. England bets.
