The favorites have to press on the second matchday for Group G and Group H. But that doesn’t necessarily mean high-scoring clashes in this set of FIFA World Cup props today.

That’s because the minnows are starting to see opportunity. Cabo Verde has a realistic pathway to the knockout stages if it can hold Uruguay and beat Saudi Arabia. Given that the Saudis are just four spots ahead of Cabo Verde in the world rankings, the Blue Sharks see the round of 32 as a real possibility.

That means they’re likely to try to hold Uruguay with another defensive match. If Spain does as expected and thrashes Saudi Arabia, a low-scoring match will work beautifully for Cabo Verde’s purposes.

Belgium and Spain are at the other end of the spectrum. Neither was happy with their showing in their first one. Iran will likely offer open space. The Iranians managed a 2-2 draw with New Zealand, not a strong attacking side. The All Whites put eight shots on the Iranian goal, and Belgium’s likely to do even better. Iran has allowed multiple goals in three of its five matches in 2026.

Belgium is no stranger to big numbers. In qualifying, the Belgians scored four goals or more four times in six matches. The attack is why Belgium entered the tournament with good odds to make a run. De Bruyne led the Red Devils in shots against Egypt, and play will flow to him often. Expect him to hit the mesh as Belgium look to re-establish itself as Group H favorites.

Uruguay-Cabo Verde Under 1.5 Goals (+198, FanDuel)

It’s not just that Cabo Verde threw a wrench into Group G’s odds by drawing with Spain. It’s that Uruguay were shockingly poor in drawing with Saudi Arabia. The Celeste have a history of upsetting the odds at the FIFA World Cup, but Uruguay looked nothing like its past self in escaping Saudi Arabia.

The attack appears to be off. Uruguay’s golden generation expired at the end of 2022, and this generation doesn’t appear to be ready for the moment. Uruguay exited at the group stage last time, and this group will be lucky to make it past the round of 32.

Cabo Verde’s main goal is to avoid a heavy defeat. Another draw would be excellent from the Blue Sharks’ perspective, but a 1-0 loss would let them dictate terms against Saudi Arabia. With how well the defense held Spain, a low-scoring match seems the likely outcome.
