Few teams seem better suited for the conditions at this men’s FIFA World Cup than Iran. The Iranians train in the heat year-round, and with temperatures soaring this summer, that gives their players a great chance to cash in as one of the top FIFA World Cup props today.

Iran is one of the favorites to advance in Group G, and a flying start is crucial to their chances of topping the group. That should lead to a wide-open match against New Zealand, considered one of the tournament’s weakest sides. Iran doesn’t play group favorite Belgium until its final match, so offense should be on the docket against a side that has lost eight of its past 10 matches.

Here’s a look at some of the best FIFA World Cup player props for today.

Mehdi Taremi, Over 3.5 Shots (+210, DraftKings)

Taremi, who plies his trade in Greece for Olympiacos, scored two of Iran’s goals at the World Cup four years ago. He’s scored in three of Iran’s four matches in 2026, and he’s likely to be one of the focal points for the Iranian attack.

When he’s on the pitch, he’s used to having play flow to him. In 12 starts for Olympiacos, he took 47 shots, just under four per game. His country relies on him more than his club, which means that number should rise.

There’s also the quality of the opposition to consider. New Zealand’s defense appears one of the weakest in the FIFA World Cup. The All Whites allowed four goals two weeks ago to Haiti, considered one of the tournament’s worst attacking teams. Iran knows it needs a big number if it wants to dictate terms later against Belgium.

That should give Taremi a green light to fire at the framework often. He’s a fairly accurate shooter, putting 20 of his 47 attempts this year on frame. With Iran likely to press the issue, four shots seems a reasonable target.

Jeremy Doku, Belgium, Over 2.5 Shots (-115, Caesars)

Belgium is the Group G favorite and faces a tougher task in Egypt. The Red Devils will certainly try to put Egypt to the sword early, and Doku’s history suggests he’ll be part of that. In qualifying, Doku took 27 shots, against sides similar to Egypt’s quality.

He’s hot right now, having ended the season in top form at Manchester City. In the Sky Blues’ title chase, Doku scored four goals in his final seven appearances. Belgium boss Rudi Garcia will likely trust Doku to handle things early, having leaned on him in qualifiers.

There’s another angle to consider here. Doku has already stated that he’s likely to miss the early knockout rounds because of the birth of his child. Belgium doesn’t have to worry as much about his fitness, knowing he probably won’t be available later in the tournament.

That should keep Doku on the pitch for the full 90, which should help his shot total.

Darwin Nunez Over 3.5 Shots (Caesars, -108)

This is likely to be a slow, poorly played match. Uruguay isn’t in great form, and the Celeste got delayed getting into Miami by paperwork issues. Plus, Saudi Arabia is likely to be thrilled with a low-scoring match. A draw would suit the Saudi hopes of advancing out of Group H just fine.

Uruguay is the favorite to win the group, and will be the more forceful side. Nunez will likely play a role in that, as he looks to prove a point. He competes in the Saudi Pro League, and knows his opposition well. He didn’t have a good season at Al-Hilal, and likely views this as a chance to prove his detractors wrong.

Uruguay has a history of finding results late, which means an abundance of shots. Nunez will likely help contribute to that.
