World Cup Schedule

With this slate on the docket, there are some solid options for your World Cup best bets and anytime goal scorer picks across the tournament. It’s time for players to make a name for themselves. Let’s take a look at some of the top plays to help you walk away a winner at the window.

Anytime Goal Scorer Best Bet Picks Today

Mohamed Salah, Egypt Anytime Goal Scorer (+250, Fanatics)

Salah is the best option as far as scoring threats for Egypt, even at his advanced age. He has a goal and two assists in the Pharoahs’ three group play matches. That gave him a hand in 60% of their goals during group play. Salah has three goals and two assists to his credit in five World Cup matches. In addition, he is an excellent scoring threat in qualifying with 20 goals in 29 appearances in those situations. Salah is the primary penalty kick taker for Egypt and he can score off a free kick as well when the opportunity presents itself. If Egypt is to score in this match against Australia, he’s the best option there is to bank on converting.

Luis Díaz, Colombia Anytime Goal Scorer (+165, Fanatics)

When you’re looking at a low-scoring affair, you have to think about the guys that are the most dangerous offensively. In this match, that leads to Luis Díaz. He had a chance early against Portugal and has plenty of experience putting the ball in the net. Díaz had 15 goals and 14 assists for Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga this season. In national team play, he has 23 goals in 77 matches. Meanwhile, Díaz has a goal and an assist in his three matches during this World Cup. If someone scores in this match, you have to think Díaz is a prime candidate to do just that.

Lautaro Martinez, Argentina Anytime Goal Scorer (-120, FanDuel)

When it comes to taking someone to score, you’re obviously looking at Argentina’s side here as Cape Verde had just two goals in group play. While the easy play is Messi, getting -200 odds is juiced to the gills and something that isn’t the most enticing play. That becomes more prevalent as you know that he’ll be the focal point for Cape Verde defensively. Lautaro Martinez scored in the win over Jordan and he is a proven scoring option. He has 37 goals in 78 career appearances with the national team. His goal against Jordan was his first World Cup goal. Expect him to have opportunities and, at a better price than Messi, he’s worth a play here.

Other World Cup Best Bets

Egypt vs. Australia Under 2.5 Goals (-160, FanDuel)

Let’s be perfectly blunt here. Offense isn’t the name of the game for either side here. Australia saw five of their last 11 matches end with just one total goal on the board. Five straight haven’t seen more than two goals on the board. Egypt has seen two goals or less in four of their last six matches and scored one goal or fewer in five of those. Expecting much more than that here is foolhardy. Playing the under is the safe play. You can potentially play under 1.5 goals at plus money but taking the under 2.5 gives you the cushion if the match is 1-1 going to penalties.

Ghana vs. Colombia Under 2.5 Goals (-145, Fanatics)

We’ve seen Bosnia-Herzegovina struggle in the defensive end of the field. The Dragons conceded goals in all three of their group stage matches, including a quartet of them to Switzerland. Meanwhile, the Stars and Stripes tallied eight goals in group play, including scoring at least two goals in each match. Christian Pulisic logged the final 30 minutes or so in the match with Türkiye while Folarin Balogun didn’t play at all. The Dragons have only one clean sheet in their last 11 matches and that’s problematic. On the flip side, the United States go back to Freese here but he is prone to giving up goals himself. Take both teams to score here as the top option on the board.
