Anytime Goal Scorer Best Bet Picks Today
Son Heung-min, South Korea Anytime Goal Scorer (+145, DraftKings)
South Africa has to push things offensively here as they need a win to secure a spot in the knockout stage. That means the Bafana Bafana might end up prone to miscues. Son scored 10 goals and assisted on four others in World Cup qualifying this season. In addition, he has 25 goals and six assists in 46 World Cup qualifying appearances. Son has three goals and an assist in 12 World Cup matches. While he hasn't scored in his two World Cup matches this season, he’ll have opportunities here. Look for the Reds, and their leader, to capitalize here.
Brahim Díaz, Morocco Anytime Goal Scorer (+160, DraftKings)
Díaz hasn’t been a big scorer in his career. He has 27 career goals in 203 appearances in domestic leagues. That includes a single goal in 30 appearances for Real Madrid this season. With the Atlas Lions, however, he’s more effective. Díaz has 15 goals in 29 matches for Morocco. That includes a goal and two assists in six qualifying matches. In addition, he has assisted on a pair of goals in the two matches Morocco has played in the group stage. Haiti is rather leaky in their own end and Díaz capitalizes to score his first World Cup goal.
Ermedin Demirovic, Bosnia-Herzegovina Anytime Goal Scorer (+150, DraftKings)
This is a match where the Dragons need a win to have a shot at advancing to the knockout stages. That means they have to get their offense in gear. Edin Džeko is the sentimental favorite as the 40-year-old could be making his final national team appearance in a big moment here. Demirovic may be the one to carry that torch going forward. He scored a dozen goals for Stuttgart in the Bundeslinga, marking his third straight season with double-digit goals. Demirovic hasn’t scored in the first two matches here but facing a Qatar team that surrendered six goals to Canada, the odds are in his favor. Therefore, take a shot at him scoring for the Dragons.
Other World Cup Best Bets
Mexico vs. Czechia Under 2.5 Goals (-130, Fanatics)
This is a match with two teams in completely different situations. Mexico has clinched their spot in the knockout stage. In addition, they have earned the top spot in Group A. That gives El Tri an opportunity to sit some players and potentially sub others out earlier than usual as they have nothing to play for here. Czechia does most of their damage offensively from set piece plays. The problem there is two-fold. For starters, you simply aren’t going to get a ton of those in a match. Secondly, El Tri defends well against those sorts of plays. Neither side has been great offensively in group play. Therefore, take the under in this one.
Canada vs. Switzerland Draw (+210, DraftKings) Canada vs. Switzerland Under 2.5 Goals Under 2.5 Goals (-125, DraftKings)
Canada is in the driver’s seat here as a win or draw gives them the top spot in Group B. Switzerland has to win in order to earn the top seed in the group but likely is in decent shape to advance with a draw. Les Rouges are content to play conservatively here and may do just that. Losing Kone was a big blow for them, though Saliba stepped in and scored after replacing him. Switzerland got good production from their reserves in their win over Bosnia-Herzegovina. The Nati clearly are lamenting the lost two points from the match with Qatar. Playing the draw seems like the best call here. In addition, taking the under on goals is definitely a sound play as well.
