It’s day two of the group stage of the World Cup and with comes a pair of matchups with host countries in action. In one matchup, a pair of inexperienced squads at this level look to get Group B play off on the right foot. Meanwhile, in the other, we’ve got a Group D clash that can set an early tone as well. Let’s break down the schedule.

World Cup Schedule

With this slate on the docket, there are some solid options for your World Cup best bets and anytime goal scorer picks across the league. It’s time for players to make a name for themselves. Let’s take a look at some of the top plays to help you walk away a winner at the window.

Anytime Goal Scorer Picks Today

Christian Pulisic, United States (+220, FanDuel)

If the Stars and Stripes are going to make any kind of sustained run in this World Cup, their key star has to contribute. He didn’t score in the United States’ four international friendlies in 2025. In addition, he has just one goal to his credit in a quartet of matches this calendar year. That came in the USMNT’s 3-2 victory over Senegal a couple of weeks ago. Expect Pulisic to push and with he and Folarin Bolagun up front, Paraguay has their hands full trying to defend both individuals. Give Pulisic a look when it comes to scoring in this match.

Jonathan David, Canada (+190, FanDuel)

If Canada is going to get on the board in the World Cup, David is a solid option to back. He tallied twice against Iceland back on March 28, both on penalty kicks, in a friendly. Those goals helped Canada rally from a 2-0 deficit to wind up with a 2-2 draw. Facing an equally green team in Bosnia-Herzegovina in the opening match should give opportunities. David is the best striking option that Canada can put on the pitch. With that in mind, with the thought process being that each side likely finds the net in this one, backing David to score makes sense.

Edin Džeko, Bosnia-Herzegovina (+360, DraftKings)

Much like David and Canada, Džeko is the top scoring threat for Bosnia-Herzegovina. He turned 40 in March and this is likely his final run with the national team on a big stage. Džeko is as experienced a weapon as there is in this tournament. He has 264 goals in domestic league play and he isn’t fazed by the bright lights. Džeko has played in 46 World Cup qualifying matches in his career and scored 31 goals. In addition, he scored once in the Dragons’ 2014 World Cup run. That goal came in a 3-1 victory over Iran. Even in the twilight of his career, Džeko is a threat. He is a safe bet to score in this matchup.

Top World Cup Prop Bets Today

Bosnia-Herzegovina vs. Canada Under 2.5 Goals (-145, DraftKings)

It’s safe to say that the lights might be too bright for these two sides when it comes to scoring. Taking a look back at recent matches for each side shows that they’ve been involved in low-scoring affairs with regularity. Dating back to last September, Canada has fallen under this number in nine of their last 10 matches. The lone exception was the aforementioned draw with Iceland when David tallied twice in the second half on penalty kicks. Meanwhile, Bosnia-Herzegovina have stayed under the number in five straight matches dating back to last November. This one likely doesn’t see more than a pair of goals. Therefore, take the under here.

Paraguay vs. United States Both Teams to Score (FanDuel, -102)

These teams met in a friendly back on November 15, 2025 with the United States earning a 2-1 victory. We’ve seen the USMNT struggle at times in the defensive end and that’s something that they have to resolve. Freese usually allows at least one goal during most of his matches. That fact is backed up by the stat that he has a 20% clean sheet percentage in his international appearances. Paraguay has a veteran between the sticks. In addition, they are motivated to avenge that defeat back in November. In the end, I see this one ending up as a draw and both teams scoring.
