Against Croatia, England was flying offensively and that overshadowed their defensive lapses to carry them to a win. England controlled the shot attempts by a 22-10 margin and an 11-5 margin in terms of shots on goal in the match. Harry Kane opened the scoring in the 12th minute on a penalty kick. After Croatia knotted the match in the 36th minute, Kane gave England a 2-1 lead with his second goal of the match in the 42nd minute.
