Colombia Last Match
On Friday, Colombia was in a defensive struggle in their match with Ghana but did just enough offensively to emerge with the round of 32 victory. Los Cafeteros owned a 61% to 39% advantage in terms of possession in the match. Colombia also held a 2.04 to 0.27 edge in terms of expected goals and an 8-0 advantage in terms of shots on goal in the match. In the first half, Colombia took an early lead on a Jhon Arias goal in the 14th minute that was set up by Luis Suárez. That remained the score at halftime as Los Cafeteros kept Ghana in check.
In the second half, Colombia had their chances early but couldn’t build the lead. Luis Díaz had a good chance in the 55th minute but was stopped. Díaz seemed to score in the 57th minute only to have that goal taken off the board on an offside call. He had a third chance in the 58th minute but was stopped by Lawrence Ati Zigi. Davinson Sánchez had another good opportunity in the 81st minute but came up empty. Colombia smothered Ghana’s offensive chances and that sent them to the victory. Camilo Vargas makes his fifth World Cup appearance. Vargas has a record of three wins, one draw and no losses with three clean sheets on the ledger.

Switzerland Last Match
Against Algeria in the round of 32, Switzerland took an early lead to put the Fennecs on their heels and controlled the match. Switzerland overcame a 56% to 44% advantage in terms of possession in the match. In addition, the Nati won the shots on goal by a 5-2 margin while falling by a 2.45 to 0.73 margin in terms of expected goals. That was the margin at intermission as the sides were rather pedestrian the rest of the half.

Switzerland to Advance (FanDuel, +136)
Colombia is a solid side but the fact remains that they haven’t set the world on fire offensively during this World Cup. Los Cafeteros scored three times in their group opener against Uzbekistan. However, since that point, they have just two goals on the board in three matches. Sure, they haven’t conceded a goal in those three matches but they were rather listless against Portugal. Switzerland has nine goals in their four matches, scoring at least twice in three straight contests. Jhon Cordoba is done for the rest of the World Cup, taking him out of the mix for Colombia. Switzerland is playing well and they have the ability to surprise. Take the Nati to advance to the quarterfinals.
Over 2.5 Goals (Betr, +129)
As we mentioned, Switzerland has scored nine goals in four matches entering this contest. The Nati conceded a goal in each of their three group stage matches, so they are prone to being scored on. Colombia turned in three clean sheets in a row entering this one but they’re facing a Switzerland team that is capable offensively. Ndoye, Embolo and Manzambi can all do damage and they’ll pressure Los Cafeteros’ backline. Both teams likely score in this match and that ends up putting this match over the number.
Breel Embolo Anytime Goal Scorer (DraftKings, +210)
While Manzambi has been the big scoring threat of late, tallying three goals in group play for the Nati, overlooking what Embolo brings to the pitch is a mistake. He scored eight times for Rennes in the French Ligue 1 this season. All told, he has 80 goals in 294 career domestic league appearances. He has eight goals and three assists in 17 career World Cup qualifying matches. In addition, Embolo has four goals plus three assists in 12 World Cup appearances. That includes two goals and two assists during group play this year. If Switzerland earns a penalty kick, odds are Embolo takes it. He scored against Algeria and is poised to do it again here.
