NFL SNF Player Props, Anytime Touchdown Odds, and SGP Promos: Dolphins at Patriots

The NFL Sunday schedule of Week 2 action concludes with a juicy AFC East matchup between the Dolphins and Patriots on Sunday Night Football. These SNF player props surfaced in the middle of the week, so bettors had plenty of time to dig in before Sunday evening. The Miami Dolphins visit the New England Patriots at 8:20 p.m. ET. Dolphins odds show Miami as a spread favorite and Patriots as the best price on the moneyline across the best betting sites.

All eyes will be on Tyreek Hill after his massive performance last week, leading me to think an under could be in play. Below I’ll explain who I’m targeting for SNF player props to close out Week 2 odds, including anytime touchdown odds. DOLPHINS VS. PATRIOTS PLAYER PROPS

Tyreek Hill Longest reception under

The Cheetah is the first SNF player props I’ll be targeting in this one. It’s a scary idea playing against the speedy Hill after his 200+ yard performance last week. But I think the Patriots’ defense makes a concerted effort Sunday evening to keep Hill in check. The issue the Chargers had last week was getting caught in man coverage against Hill. You risk getting burned whenever you run man coverage against a playmaker of Hill’s caliber.

I’d expect New England to run more zone coverage to keep Hill in front of them this game. Even when they run man looks, Belichick’s squad has Jonathan Jones in coverage. Jones possesses a bit more speed than the corners Hill faced off against last week for the Chargers, particularly former Patriot J.C. Jackson.

Dolphins vs. Patriots anytime touchdown odds

The Patriots offense looked much better in Week 1 than they did last year, in large part because Bill O’Brien has entered the fray as the new OC. Tight ends have thrived in O’Brien’s system in the past, most recently in Houston. In 2020 with Deshaun Watson, seven of his 33 touchdown passes were caught by tight ends. The year prior, the TE Darren Fells led the team in touchdown receptions with seven. For that reason, I think there’s some value in backing Patriots tight ends this year. Last year with Miami, the 6-foot-6 TE reeled in five touchdowns.

Miami’s defense yielded its lone passing touchdown last week to tight end Donald Parham Jr.. Parham got lined up with safety DeShon Elliott opposite of him in man coverage, a clear mismatch that Herbert exploited immediately. If the Pats are marching down the field with ease Sunday night, I’d expect them to look at attacking Elliott numerous times with a TE once they get into the redzone. Whether that TE is Henry or Gesicki is up for debate, but at this juicy price, Henry is worth a sprinkle against his former team.

Adding to the notion that Gesicki can score here is his snap count from Week 1. Despite being listed as TE2 on the depth chart behind Henry, he still logged 41% of the offensive snaps against a stout Eagles defense. Tight end Hunter Henry found the endzone for the team last week, but I’m willing to take a crack that New England tries to get Gesicki some revenge here.
