April 29: “Hall of Fame trainer Bill Mott decided early Saturday to wait until Sunday morning for the colt owned by Frank Fletcher Racing Operations to put in his final breeze for the Derby. So [he] took to the track Saturday for a gallop with regular exercise rider Guelser Cardona aboard.
‘We decided to wait till tomorrow,’ Mott said. ‘There might be a little shower (Saturday), but it shouldn’t be too bad and won’t affect him.’ No rider has been confirmed for the Derby.”
