Betting on the point spread is when you wager on how many points a team will win or lose by. A “plus” sign in front of the spread is the underdog, and a “minus” sign is the favorite. The Raiders need to win by eight points or more if you bet on them against the spread, as they’re priced as a seven-point road favorite at most shops. Conversely, a spread bet on the Rams would need Los Angeles to lose by at most six points or win outright.
The total is the number of combined points that the two teams will score. Bettors can bet “over” or “under” on how many total points will be scored in the game.

Raiders at Rams: Betting Insights
Why Raiders Can Cover The Spread
Not only did Las Vegas’ offense accrue 7.0 YPP against the Chargers in a 27-20 win on Sunday, but it’s also been clicking on all cylinders of late. Over their last five games, Derek Carr & Co. boast the sixth-ranked DVOA (per Football Outsiders). In short, this metric measures every single play amid the season and compares each one to a league-average standard — based on the circumstances.
On the flip side, Los Angeles is banged up across the line of scrimmage. That includes All-Pro defensive tackle Aaron Donald, who will miss this game with a high-ankle sprain. Considering the Rams are already manufacturing the league’s second-lowest pressure rate (16.2%), Carr should have time to unveil the Raiders’ explosive passing attack.
A declining Jalen Ramsey will likely shadow Davante Adams, and the remainder of the Los Angeles’ secondary is a question mark. For context, it’s yielding the fourth-highest Dropback EPA — in front of only the Lions, these Raiders, and Bears.
Why Rams Can Cover The Spread
Per the information above, Los Angeles may be able to exploit Las Vegas’ defensive backfield. However, the defending Super Bowl champs are dealing with a slew of injuries — highlighted by a spinal cord contusion for QB Matthew Stafford.
While they claimed signal caller Baker Mayfield off of waivers, his status for this matchup is unknown. Whether he or John Wolford (neck) starts under center, one of them will need to deal with a blitz-heavy defensive front. Given the Rams’ struggles with pass protection, the Raiders could close the curtains on this contest early on if they hand over a negative game script to their opposition.
Overall, Sean McVay’s bunch has tallied the third-fewest EPA per play across the NFL. Neither Cooper Kupp nor Allen Robinson are set to return from the injured reserve list, either.
