Biggest Remaining Position Needs
The Raiders’ top draft needs include an offensive tackle, defensive line, and cornerback. They added the oft-injured Garoppolo in free agency and could use this pick to bolster his protection via a right tackle. The opposite side of their offensive line is already occupied by Kolton Miller.
But instead of going that route, a quarterback may be in play for the Raiders. Garoppolo signed a three-year deal, yet it’s only a two-year contract — given the guaranteed money.
Elsewhere, the Will Anderson draft position market hints that the Cardinals may move out of the number three spot in the draft. DraftKings Sportsbook currently has his Over/Under pinned at 3.5, with +110 to the over.
Those odds suggest a team trading up to select a quarterback. The Raiders and Colts are obvious candidates to move up. Las Vegas was reportedly in talks with the Bears for the first-overall pick, yet they deemed the price to move that far up too high. However, the cost to move up from seven to three would be significantly less.
There are a couple of other things to factor in here. Josh McDaniels was the offensive coordinator for the Patriots in 2020 when Cam Newton was in town. Remember that QB prospect Anthony Richardson has top-30 prospect visits with the Panthers, Colts, Raiders, Falcons, and Titans.
Before the NFL Combine in March, Richardson was asked to compare himself to someone in the NFL, and his answer was, “Growing up, that guy was always Cam Newton for me.” The similarities are certainly there with their large frames and athleticism. Barring a Lamar Jackson trade to Indianapolis before the draft, Vegas may have to jump the Colts to secure Richardson.
New Colts head coach Shane Steichen was previously the offensive coordinator in Philadelphia for two seasons. The Colts desperately need a quarterback, given the position has been a turnstile since Andrew Luck retired. Steichen may view Richardson as the next Jalen Hurts. Mind you, Hurts finished last season with 760 rushing yards and a team-leading 13 rushing touchdowns.

CONCLUSION FOR RAIDERS NFL DRAFT ODDS
Even if they don’t move up to No. 3, there’s a route where a QB falls to Las Vegas at No. 7. Should the Ravens trade within the conference and move Lamar to the Colts, a QB could certainly plop right into their lap. The Raiders are +250 to draft Richardson at DraftKings Sportsbook.
