Week 9 Thursday Night Football: Latest Betting Lines & Odds

The Jaguars are enjoying a decent season, so this wouldn’t be a formality for a fit-and-firing Baltimore side. And this isn’t a fit and firing side - having waited three weeks on Lamar Jackson’s return, Ravens fans were in for just one play from scrimmage: Jackson sustained a thumb injury on his throwing hand on his first dropback, and the new injury could end his season after surgery. Step up, backup Snoop Huntley, who’d started the last three games anyway. And step up he did, until a toe injury knocked him out of the game too and sent rookie Joe Fagnano into the firing line. Spoiler alert: The Ravens lost 36-10 to the Bills and the season is getting away from them. Fagnano himself is in question for Week 9, which may be excessive caution, but coach Jesse Minter is seeking at least one more QB.

The Jaguars are faves by more than a touchdown here, and it’s not only because Baltimore will struggle to practice passing drills this week with a four-day turnaround. The visitors here are 5-2, and coming off a 42-7 demolition of the Indianapolis Colts this past weekend. Trevor Lawrence passed for three TDs, second-year RB Bhayshul Tuten ran for another two with 159 combined yards and overall, Jacksonville played well enough to put up a decent score even if the opponent hadn’t been Indianapolis.

Odds could change somewhat between now and kickoff, although not “Lamar Jackson has made a full and speedy recovery” kind of change, so now’s a good time to follow these simple steps.
