This stands to be a must-win game for both teams: the home team come into the afternoon’s action with an 0-3 record, while Green Bay is 1-2 with its playoff hopes receding after a dreadful home opener against the previously winless Falcons. Could Tampa Bay be the latest team to relaunch their season with a win over the Packers? This weekend will tell us, but there are clues out there already.

Packers - Buccaneers Same Game Parlay Options

There’s a pretty fair chance that the Pack will be facing a backup QB on their visit to Florida, as Tampa starter Baker Mayfield hurt the thumb on his throwing hand late on in their 23-16 loss to Minnesota. That would bring Jalon Daniels in for his first start, and rookie quarterbacks tend to struggle when called upon at short notice. And yet… few things have been straightforward in the NFL this season. The Packers were outscored 28-7 across the final three quarters in last week’s Thursday Night Football which we reiterate was at home to the Falcons.

So what are the smart calls here? Well, first and foremost we’d expect a low-scoring game: Green Bay has struggled to produce on offense and Tampa just plain ain’t that good. We would, however, pick Tampa to get their first win of the season against a Packers unit that seems confused as to its mission and doesn’t love playing in Florida. You might also like to pick Bucky Irving to have a 100+-yard game on the ground, as the Packers have struggled to stop the run and the Bucs will want to lighten the load on an untried Daniels.
