Trump’s Next Press Secretary Prediction Market: Katie Zacharia Selected

Update: U.S. President Donald Trump has named conservative commentator Katie Zacharia as the next White House press secretary. Her appointment was announced on Friday, Oct. 9. Zacharia had an outside shot of landing the role with 'Yes' contracts listed at <$0.01.
The race is on to become Donald Trump’s next press secretary. Anna Kelly still leads the way, though close aide Natalie Harp and experienced Scott Jennings also draw interest in the prediction market.
Trump has been without a regular press secretary since Karoline Leavitt stepped down to start maternity leave.
Kalshi traders have kicked into gear, trading over $6 million on who they think will succeed her. Will POTUS go for an experienced media face like Scott Jennings or the former FOX Business anchor, Maria Bartiromo?
Trump’s Next Press Secretary: Market Leaders
Karoline Leavitt departed in August, and prediction markets have been gauging the value plays as they try to predict the outcome.
Alina Habba was an early leader in this market before ruling herself out. The lead on the Kalshi board has since been swapped between Scott Jennings and Anna Kelly.
However, Natalie Harp is trending in Google searches after Donald Trump asked her to bring him an executive order live on stage at a Republican rally.
There’s still time to trade in and out of the next U.S. press secretary market on Kalshi. Best of all, you don’t need to wait for a market to resolve to sell.
Anna Kelly: ‘Yes’ @ $0.23
Despite early favoritism in this market in August, Anna Kelly dropped into the teens based on implied probability. The fervor surrounding (ex) FOX broadcaster Maria Bartiromo has died down, and Kelly has easily reclaimed the No. 1 spot.
So, why the cautious optimism about Kelly becoming Trump’s next press secretary?
She is the current principal deputy press secretary and has taken many briefings since Leavitt left.
The $0.23 price for an event contract shows that traders still don’t know which way Trump will go. However, it offers a chance to sell a position before an announcement, if Kelly’s price goes up.
Our pick: Kelly is favorite for a reason – Kalshi, $0.23
Scott Jennings: ‘Yes’ @ $0.13
Let’s start with one thing Scott Jennings doesn’t have going for him to become a Trump press secretary: he’s not a former beauty queen.
That might sound flippant, but there is a trend among Trump’s picks, and it could give Anna Kelly the final push.
Jennings is one of the most experienced candidates for the vacant press secretary job. He has media experience but has a history of making anti-Trump comments.
Jennings’ stance has changed and is now firmly pro-Trump. However, lukewarm White House comments about Jennings mean he is no way a stone-cold favorite for the role.
Our pick: Jennings remains a value play – Kalshi, $0.13
Natalie Harp: ‘Yes’ @ $0.05
We end our pick of the next press secretary hopefuls with Natalie Harp.
Arguably Donald Trump’s most trusted aide, Harp has been bubbling around the $0.04-$0.07 mark for a while.
However, she remains an excellent value pick when stories emerge of her closeness to POTUS.
Most recently, Harp was shown delivering an executive order to Trump live on stage at a Nebraska campaign rally. That’s given the close aide plenty of Google clicks and activated Kalshi traders, who smell something in the water.
The “human printer” (named for apparently printing out favorable press coverage wherever Trump goes) is undoubtedly loyal, but a press secretary role is something else. Harp helps Trump with his social media accounts, and she has TV anchor experience. How does that value play look now?
Our pick: The easy value pick for the trusted aide – Kalshi, $0.05
Trump’s next press secretary should be chosen by the end of the year. There’s still time to trade in and out of a position now. And don’t forget to check back tomorrow to find more value plays in the markets.
