‘Sense and Sensibility’ Rotten Tomatoes Prediction Markets: Score Forecasts

The new screen adaptation of Jane Austen’s ‘Sense & Sensibility’ hits U.S. theaters this weekend. But what will its final Rotten Tomatoes score be, and how can you bet on the outcome?
Mixed reviews following its U.K. launch have led Kalshi traders to downplay the movie’s overall Rotten Tomatoes score. The Tomatometer reads 76%, with Kalshi customers averaging event contracts at 75.4%.
Is there value in going big and hoping the U.S. theatre-goers like Georgia Oakley’s take on the classic novel? Or is a 2% chance of an 82% Rotten Tomatoes score too much to ask for?
‘Sense & Sensibility’ Rotten Tomatoes Prediction Market: Frontrunners
To paraphrase Jane Austen: “The more I know of the world, the more I am convinced that I shall never see a prediction market I can really love.”
Traders on the prediction markets are being cautious about ‘Sense & Sensibility’’s chances on the Rotten Tomatoes scale.
Rotten Tomatoes is seen as the barometer for movie watchers. A “Certified Fresh” rating (70%–80%) acts like a seal of approval for movies. The final Tomatometer score is a percentage based on professional critic reviews. That is separate from the Popcornmeter score, which is based on average audience ratings.
You can trade on what the final Tomatometer for ‘Sense & Sensibility’ will be. The movie hit theaters yesterday. However, critics have already weighed in, and the market has reacted.
Rotten Tomatoes Score: ‘Above 75%’ ‘Yes’ @ $0.58
1995’s ‘Sense & Sensibility’ is widely considered one of the best-ever Jane Austen adaptations. Emma Thompson won an Oscar for her adapted screenplay, helping the movie to a 97% Tomatometer score on Rotten Tomatoes.
The 2026 adaptation is receiving lukewarm praise from critics.
IndieWire and Screen Daily called the new version “unfussy”, but there was widespread praise for the costumes and set pieces.
However, The Daily Beast called the movie “dreary and dull”, with inevitable comparisons with the 1995 classic.
There seems to be enough praise for the movie’s characters and overall look to warrant a trade on ‘Above 75’. It certainly appeals more than the 3% on ‘Above 80%’.
Our pick: Above 75% is the play – Kalshi, $0.58
Rotten Tomatoes Score: ‘Above 80%’ ‘Yes’ @ $0.03
Trading on a sudden slew of good reviews seems churlish, but is there just too much value at $0.03?
The 2005 version of ‘Pride & Prejudice’ secured an 87% Tomatometer score on Rotten Tomatoes. Joe Wright was widely praised for updating the story, although the stilted chemistry between the leads still drew some criticism.
‘Bridgerton’ is still drawing in the audiences on Netflix, and a new 6-part adaptation of ‘Pride & Prejudice’ hits that platform in December. Could that renewed interest in Austen help sway the critic reviews as ‘Sense & Sensibility’ hit theaters?
Our pick: A low-risk value play – Kalshi, $0.03
