Then came another blockbuster move late Saturday night, as the Dodgers acquired Tarik Skubal from the Detroit Tigers, making an already loaded roster even stronger.

The Dodgers already had the deepest roster in baseball, and adding arguably the best pitcher in the world only widens the gap between them and the rest of the league on paper.

The bigger question is whether any team should command that much of the market in a sport as unpredictable as baseball.

One dominant pitching performance, one offensive slump or one unlucky bounce can completely change the outcome of October. Because of that, teams like the New York Yankees, Milwaukee Brewers and Atlanta Braves become intriguing alternatives for anyone who believes the Dodgers are beginning to command too much of the market.

For those following prediction markets news, that's the biggest debate surrounding the World Series race. If Skubal truly puts the Dodgers into a tier of their own, 41% could still be justified. But if you believe postseason baseball is simply too unpredictable, there may be better value elsewhere.

Pacers Are Being Underrated in the Eastern Conference Race

The race for the Eastern Conference's No. 1 seed has become one of the NBA's most fascinating prediction markets after one of the wildest offseasons in recent memory.

The Miami Heat landed Giannis Antetokounmpo, the New York Knicks are looking to defend their championship, and the Philadelphia 76ers added both Jaylen Brown and LeBron James to an already talented roster. Unsurprisingly, those teams sit near the top of the market to finish with the Eastern Conference's best regular-season record.

But the more intriguing value may exist just outside that group.

The Indiana Pacers currently hold a 20% probability on Polymarket despite possessing everything needed to earn the No. 1 seed. Just over a year ago, Indiana came within one win of an NBA championship before injuries to Tyrese Haliburton derailed not only that Finals run but much of the following season.

Now Haliburton is healthy, the roster is deeper, and the Pacers arguably have more talent than the group that pushed the NBA Finals to seven games.

That makes Indiana one of the most interesting value plays in the market. While the conference's new superteams will receive most of the attention, the Pacers have the continuity, chemistry and talent to finish atop the standings.
