Prediction Markets News Today July 1: What's Trending on Kalshi?
We're here to check out the top prediction markets news today for Wednesday, July 1! In this series, we won't necessarily stick to just sports — we'll look at all the markets trending for trades on Kalshi and put a little context behind each one. Sports continue to take center stage right now, which is no surprise with the World Cup going on, but there's plenty of action across the board today.
Top Prediction Markets News Today for July 1
Sports are dominating the volume on Kalshi, and one of the biggest markets today is the World Cup Round of 32 clash between DR Congo and England in Atlanta.
It's simple at this point in the knockout stage. The loser goes home, and the winner moves on to the Round of 16 with the 16 remaining teams. On Kalshi, the trends are saying England has a very high chance to advance, trading at 88 cents on the "Yes" to move on. That means a $10 position returns roughly $11.26 if England gets through.
The winner of this one draws a daunting trip to face Mexico in the next round. Worth noting: England has looked uninspiring during group stage play, so there could be some sweat here even at that price.
World Cup Prediction Markets: USMNT vs. Bosnia
To no surprise, there's another World Cup market that will pick up steam today as the United States Men's National Team squares off against Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The Americans are heavy favorites to advance, trading at 84 cents on the "Yes." Digging a little deeper, American captain Christian Pulisic is trading at 41 cents to score a goal. Pulisic returned from a calf injury in the final group-stage match, coming off the bench to knock off some rust. He said Tuesday that he's fully prepared to start against Bosnia with no restrictions — even if it goes the full 90 or into extra time — so this is a captain rounding back into form at exactly the right time.
NBA Prediction Markets: LeBron James' Next Team
NBA free agency is also in full swing, and there's been plenty of drama and chaos so far, with star players switching teams left and right.
And it wouldn't be an offseason without LeBron James rumored to land somewhere new. The King recently informed the Lakers he wouldn't be returning, telling the franchise it can move on without him as he plans to play elsewhere in 2026-27. Naturally, the "LeBron James' Next Team" market is buzzing on Kalshi.
Golden State is leading the charge at 42 cents on "Yes," followed by Cleveland — one of his former teams and his home state — at 34 cents, while the Miami Heat sit at 16 cents. Many NBA experts expect this news to break sooner rather than later, and the whole basketball world will be on watch when it does. My best guess is that James wants to finally play with Warriors legend Stephen Curry after an awesome showing in the Olympics two summers ago.
That's a wrap on the prediction markets news today. Good luck, and let's trade some event contracts on Kalshi!
