Jack Lowden is the James Bond Favorite
Scottish actor, Jack Lowden, is the runaway favorite on Kalshi (though not on Polymarket) to become Daniel Craig’s successor as 007.
A recent The Rest is Entertainment podcast hinted that Lowden was “in the running” for the prime role. However, auditions are still ongoing and nothing is set in stone.
That hasn’t stopped prediction market traders (over)reacting, however. Lowden’s share price has jumped from single digits to around 34%, overtaking early leader Callum Turner in the process.
Here’s how the 007 market is leaving Kalshi shaken and stirred:
- Jack Lowden: ‘Yes’ 37ȼ; ‘No’ 80ȼ
- Callum Turner: ‘Yes’ 33ȼ; ‘No’ 68ȼ
- Aaron Taylor-Johnson: ‘Yes’ 18ȼ; ‘No’ 84ȼ
Margaret Qualley Heads the Next Bond Girl Picks
Kalshi and Polymarket also run event contracts on the next Bond girl. A traditional feature of any Bond movie, traders are thinking outside the box as new franchise owners, Amazon MGM, hint at shaking things up.
Where the Bond girl was normally played by a model or B-list star, the markets are convinced Amazon will turn to a more recognizable name.
Step forward, Margaret Qualley, Andie Macdowell’s daughter and star of The Substance. Qualley is a 39% favorite, with hot-right-now Sydney Sweeney just behind on 23%.
You can also back the other way with a low-risk ‘No’. Zendaya is A-list right now, but playing second string to Bond may be beyond the Dune star. A 92% buy on ‘No’ seems right.
- Margaret Qualley: ‘Yes’ 35ȼ; ‘No’ 67ȼ
- Sydney Sweeney: ‘Yes’ 24ȼ; ‘No’ 79ȼ
- Anya Taylor-Joy: ‘Yes’ 16ȼ; ‘No’ 86ȼ
- Zendaya: ‘Yes’ 11ȼ; ‘No’ 92ȼ
Olivia Dean Leads the Race for Bond Theme
The artist performing the James Bond theme market is the most volatile but will likely land on one superstar solo artist.
Olivia Dean broke the UK record for longest time at #1 in the singles chart this summer. She heads a pack of Brits that includes Raye and Dua Lipa to land the coveted spot.
We suggest a ‘Watch’ on this market but track the social media and news outlets for the latest developments.
Here’s how the next James Bond theme market is playing out at Kalshi:
- Olivia Dean: ‘Yes’ 34ȼ; ‘No’ 69ȼ
- Raye: ‘Yes’ 24ȼ; ‘No’ 80ȼ
- Dua Lipa: ‘Yes’ 20ȼ; ‘No’ 84ȼ
- Lana Del Rey: ‘Yes’ 19ȼ; ‘No’ 85ȼ
