The wait for the next James Bond prediction market to resolve is nearly over. Final screen tests are well underway as the 007 hopefuls audition their one-liners and Walther PPK skills.

The Next James Bond market has attracted nearly $3.5 million in trades on Kalshi since Amazon took over the franchise.

Media speculation has been rife over whether Amazon goes for a complete unknown, a household name, or even the first female Bond.

Casting directors are tight-lipped, but the race is between barely half a dozen hopefuls. But, as we’ve seen these past few months, a little showbiz gossip can upend the prediction markets as one of 007’s Judo throws.

Next James Bond: Callum Turner Back on Top

Slow Horses’ Jack Lowden was a post-summer favorite in the next 007 market before early frontrunner Callum Turner resumed the lead.

Now, Josh O’Connor’s name has leaped in price on the prediction markets, up 20 points within a day or so.

With speculation intensifying, traders are playing musical chairs as they try to snatch that last position before an announcement.

Callum Turner: ‘Yes’ @ $0.48

Callum Turner was trading as low as $0.29 per share a couple of weeks ago in the Next 007 market.

Early buyers in the spring could have bought at $0.54 and sold at $0.29.

Now? The ‘Fantastic Beasts’ star is back up to $0.48 after endorsement from Irish acting legend Pierce Brosnan.

Plus, news emerged that Turner had stepped down from his production company, Twentytwo Films Ltd.

Our pick: Has Callum Turner given a big clue? – Kalshi, $0.48

Josh O’Connor: ‘Yes’ @ $0.38

Sometimes, a single tabloid headline is all it takes to shake up the markets. After all, prediction markets react in real time to what info traders have at hand.

That info is a story that a stage co-star of Josh O’Connor apparently “revealed” that he had got the part.

Whether the loose lips are accurate or not is anyone’s guess. But it was enough to flip the Kalshi market, allowing traders to sell their positions.

The Josh O’Connor episode shows exactly how “insider information”, whether real or imagined, can send prediction markets into a frenzy.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, studios are clamping down on execs and production staff who use insider knowledge to profit on exchanges.

The Reporter says employees are being quietly issued guidelines. The problem is that prediction exchanges facilitate event contracts on thousands of culture markets, with traders able to swap on virtually anything.

Release dates, reality show winners, and audition picks are ripe for trades, and for unfair insider advantage.

Our pick: Is the O’Connor rumor true? Kalshi, $0.38

Jack Lowden: ‘Yes’ @ $0.13

The ‘Slow Horses’ actor would become the first Scot since Sean Connery to take on the Bond role.

Lowden was #1 in the Next 007 market for a while after peer approval from ‘Slow Horses’ co-star Gary Oldman. Like the Pierce Brosnan/Callum Turner episode, it shows just how one loose showbiz quote can shift markets considerably.

Lowden’s event contract price has slumped since the summer, so it’s a good value play to buy now. The Scot still has admirers, and no decision has been made yet, despite any fears of insider shenanigans.

Our pick: Lowden the value pick – Kalshi, $0.13
