The midterms take place 3 November and the balance of power is very much on a knife edge, according to the prediction markets.

Currently, a Democratic clean sweep of the House and Senate is the favorite as traders eye up primaries, negative polls, and more.

A Democratic takeover of the House of Representatives and Senate is a 48% probability at Kalshi. However, there’s better value in going for a D-House, R-Senate outcome.

Do Iran and weekend polls for Donald Trump forecast doom and destruction for the Republicans? Prediction market traders can’t decide.

Midterms Prediction Market: The Latest Prices

It’s a toss-up on the prediction markets to see who wins out in the midterms in two months. Donald Trump’s popularity is slumping as he struggles to get a grip on the U.S.–Iran war and rising inflation.

You can trade on this market now, and many connected markets, on Kalshi.

D-House, D-Senate ‘Yes’ @ $0.48

High inflation and the war in Iran are playing havoc with Donald Trump’s second term. An NBA News Decision poll last week found Trump’s support among Republicans dropping. Plus, Trump’s approval rating is just 36%, lower than the 40% Joe Biden earned in his second term.

The last midterms didn’t go so well for the Republicans, despite a Democrat in the White House. They underperformed and didn’t take control of the Senate. That flew in the face of an incumbent president doing badly in the midterms.

At a coinflip on the political prediction markets, a Democratic clean sweep of both the House and Senate seems the play. However, we’d like to see the price dip a little before recommending a strong buy.

Our pick: Back the coinflip at Kalshi, $0.48

D-House, R-Senate ‘Yes’ @ $0.37

There’s history for a Republican hold of the Senate, even if they lose the House.

In 2018, during Trump’s first term, the Republicans lost control of the House but shored up their Senate majority.

The POTUS is shaking and has even planned a convention this month to help rally his supporters. It might not be enough, but $0.37 represents just enough value to go for each party taking one hit apiece.

Our pick: Go for the split at Kalshi, $0.37

R-House, R-Senate ‘Yes’ @ $0.16

This is the big risk at $0.16. The Republicans are polling badly, and Trump is struggling with the economy and Iran. However, the GOP currently controls both houses.

In 2022, the Republicans just won the House, thanks to good performances in big states, such as Florida and Texas.

President Trump is attempting to block mail voting, but ballots have already started going out. Should the mail-in ballot tactic work, it could give the Republicans a surprise win. But Kalshi traders aren’t betting on it.

Our pick: A Republican clean sweep? It’s a risky value pick at Kalshi, $0.16
