The World Cup friendlies are underway, and the group stage is just days away. If you're looking to get involved beyond simply rooting for your favorite country, Polymarket has plenty of World Cup 2026 markets worth a serious look. Let's dive into the best World Cup prediction markets for all of the upcoming soccer action.

Best World Cup Prediction Markets: Most Assists

At "yes, 13 cents," the value on Michael Olise in the Most Assists market is hard to ignore. Opportunity is everything — and Olise has it in spades. He's representing France, one of the tournament favorites, which means a deep run is very much on the table. More games equal more chances to rack up assists. France doesn't need to win every game in the group stage for us in this market. As long as they keep advancing, Olise is live to make us some money.

The Bayern Munich star is coming off a remarkable club season, logging 20 assists in 32 Bundesliga matches. That's a ratio that puts him among the elite creative players in the world. There should be plenty of goal-scoring opportunities for France in the group stage. Olise should be heavily involved, and I think we're getting serious value for a player on one of the best teams in the field.

Advance to Knockout Stage: Sweden

Finding value in the Advance to Knockout Stage market is difficult. The elite nations are priced so aggressively that many of them are truly not worth buying. However, Sweden at 63 cents to advance is a nice option.

Sweden is far from flawless. They scraped through qualifying, but they've got a favorable group and a bonafide difference-maker up front in Viktor Gyokeres. The Arsenal striker is fresh off a strong Premier League season and has repeatedly shown he's not afraid of the big stage.

He delivered when it mattered most in the World Cup qualifiers — the striker had four goals across six qualifying matches. Sweden's group features the Netherlands, Japan, and Tunisia, and I think that's a gettable draw for a team with Gyokeres paving the way.

Group B Winner: Switzerland

Switzerland is quietly trending, and 56 cents to win Group B looks like a reasonable buy. Their group — which includes Canada, Bosnia-Herzegovina, and Qatar — is manageable, and Switzerland has been playing with cohesion heading into the tournament.

Switzerland handled Jordan comfortably in a late May friendly and pushed Germany to a 4-3 result in March, which is no small feat against one of the world's top teams. A tie with Australia on Saturday shows they're not perfect. But in the context of Group B, I believe they're the strongest team of the bunch.

Meanwhile, Canada will be energized playing in front of home crowds, which is worth mentioning. However, Switzerland's experience and overall quality should see them through as group winners. The market is giving us a reasonable price on a very competitive team, which is hard to find.

That wraps up our World Cup prediction market analysis for today. Enjoy the friendlies and all of the upcoming group competition!
