Best World Cup Prediction Markets: This Week's Most Promising Market Trades June 19
We're kicking off the World Cup weekend in style, and the prediction market sites are loaded with value on Friday. We've got the USMNT looking to keep rolling with a goal-scorer I love to find the back of the net, and a gritty longshot worth a stab. Let's dive into the best World Cup prediction markets on Polymarket for June 19!
Best World Cup Prediction Markets Today: USMNT vs. Australia
The United States men's national team is trading at 61 cents to win against Australia, and I'm circling back to this one as my favorite trade on the board Friday.
News broke earlier today that star Christian Pulisic will be available after sustaining a calf injury during the opening match against Paraguay. That's massive for the Americans, even if he's only good for 45 to 60 minutes before getting subbed off.
The Americans simply looked different in that opener. Paraguay was in decent form, and the USMNT went out with a type of poise and decisiveness we haven't seen from this group in a long, long time. They're favorites for a reason, and I like the U.S. to keep rolling and get it done against the Australians as we kick off the weekend.
Best Trade: USMNT to Beat Australia — 61¢ (Yes)
World Cup Prediction Markets Today: Folarin Balogun to Score
Folarin Balogun over 0.5 goals is trading at 41 cents to the Yes, and that's a really, really nice price. To put it in perspective, a $10 position returns roughly $24 if he finds the net.
It's been a long time since the United States had a striker like Balogun. Despite some quality options over the years, he brings a different dimension to this team. In the opener, he had two goals, and another was wiped off due to a penalty, so he was a whisker away from a hat trick.
He also generated five shots in that first match, three of them on target. There's real chemistry building with this U.S. squad, and the cream has been rising to the top among the world's top strikers so far this tournament. I think that pattern continues. Balogun should operate in more space and get spoon-fed a couple more golden looks to bury with Pulisic active. I'm not overthinking this one.
Best Trade: Folarin Balogun Over 0.5 Goals — 41¢ (Yes)
World Cup Prediction Markets Today: Scotland vs. Morocco
Now for a splashier play. I'm drawn to Scotland, trading at just 16 cents to win on the money line against Morocco.
This one's riskier, so temper expectations. But Scotland has been remarkably competitive when you look at the full body of work. Scotland has either won or lost by no more than one goal in any international match since the beginning of October. Those bouts include a mix of World Cup qualifying, international friendlies, and the tournament itself.
The Scots' recent track record tells me they hang with just about anybody on the other side of the pitch. They're fresh off a win over Haiti in their group-stage opener. The team has some good EPL talent, so I'm not surprised. For a team that's as gritty as it gets, the price makes this worth a stab. This one is just worth some pizza money, trade it responsibly!
Best Trade: Scotland to Beat Morocco — 16¢ (Yes)
