Best Picture Prediction Markets: ‘You Can See Everything’ Shakes Up the 2027 Oscars

While all eyes are on ‘The Odyssey’ in the race for the Best Picture Oscar in 2027, sleeper hit ‘You Can See Everything’ is shaking up the market.
The prediction markets have lit up as Nathan Fielder and Lance Oppenheim’s documentary gets its cinematic release.
The movie is already attracting 5-star reviews and a bunch of internet buzz. Some are suggesting ‘You Can See Everything’ could become the first documentary to win Best Picture.
Best Picture Prediction Market: Frontrunners Oct. 28 2026
The big prediction markets are already seeing lots of trades on which movie will take away the film world’s biggest award. Over $10 million has been traded on event contracts on Kalshi so far.
And with Christopher Nolan’s ‘The Odyssey’ starting to see rival picks, expect the volume of trade to continue upward.
Can ‘You Can See Everything’ shake up the 2027 Oscar market, or is it ‘The Odyssey’’s to lose?
‘You Can See Everything’: ‘Yes’ @ $0.21
It’s incredible to see a documentary like ‘You Can See Everything’ bringing in such large numbers at the box office.
The film has taken in over $45 million in the U.S. alone and is hitting the heights of 98% on Rotten Tomatoes.
‘You Can See Everything’ tracks Elizabeth Holmes in the run-up to her incarceration for defrauding investors at her medical tech company, Theranos.
Much has been made about the dynamic between Holmes and the documentary team. Is she playing them? Is director Nathan Fielder playing her?
‘You Can See Everything’ has – like ‘Obsession’ and ‘Backrooms’ this year – gained internet traction among younger audiences. That’s the kind of buzz that can send Kalshi boards crazy. And at $0.21, there’s definitely value in buying ‘Yes’.
Our pick: The 2027 Oscars value play has arrived – Kalshi, $0.21
‘The Odyssey’: ‘Yes’ @ $0.53
We tipped ‘The Odyssey’ at $0.50 earlier this month, and its event contract price is roughly holding. However, that was before ‘You Can See Everything’ hit the movie theaters.
Christopher Nolan’s Homeric epic dipped slightly to $0.46 as review buzz encouraged trades on ‘You Can See Everything’.
However, some long-term traders are riding out the media frenzy over the Elizabeth Holmes-centered documentary.
If you’re backing an epic, nothing will come close this year than ‘The Odyssey’. It’s already racked up $1.7 billion in box office receipts worldwide. In an age where many movies go straight to streaming platforms, the Academy may want to reward ‘The Odyssey’ for that milestone alone.
Our pick: ‘The Odyssey’ still the film to beat – Kalshi, $0.53
‘Dune: Part Three’: ‘Yes’ @ $0.08
In a year without huge Oscar Best Picture frontrunners, let’s look again at a film that’s yet to be released.
The final part of Denis Villeneuve’s ‘Dune’ series hits in December. In fact, it drops on ‘Dunesday’, coinciding with the release of ‘Avengers: Doomsday’.
The last sequel to win the Best Picture Oscar was ‘Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King’ over 20 years ago. That award was much to do with rewarding Peter Jackson’s trilogy rather than the movie itself.
‘Dune’ and ‘Dune Part Two’ were sensations, pulling arthouse audiences and blockbuster hunters alike.
The third part will wrap the franchise (for now), and Oscar voters may want to send some love in Villeneuve’s direction. The $0.08 price may seem low, but it offers a chance to buy now and sell later.
Our pick: Lock in value profit now with ‘Dune: Part Three’ – Kalshi, $0.08
