Best AI 2026 Prediction Markets: Claude Leads Battle of the Bots

The race to be the best AI of 2026 is hotting up, with prediction market traders buying and selling event contracts at a frightening pace.
Millions have been traded on the ‘Best AI at the end of 2026’ market on Kalshi so far. Will it be Anthropic’s Claude or can Google’s Gemini muster a late run before the Dec. 31 cutoff?
AI has barely been out of the news this year. It’s even come to the rescue in uncovering flaws in PHP, the language used by millions of websites.
The LM Arena Leaderboard measures AI in the real world. Naturally, traders can buy and sell event contracts on which company will top the board at the end of the year.
Best AI 2026 Prediction Market: Frontrunners
You can use Kalshi and Polymarket to predict outcomes on who will top the LM Arena Leaderboard.
The Arena leaderboards track Best Coding Agents, Best Aligned Agents, and Best Agents for Work. AI users across the world can vote for model rankings. Votes are shared with developers to help improve their AI.
It’s the Best Overall AI Agent that Kalshi tracks for its main market. The volume of trade on the prediction markets is intense (over $15 million on Kalshi, and counting). But the market still has a couple of months to run.
You can sign up to Kalshi now and find prices and value plays on all the biggest AI software – and some of the smaller players, too.
Claude (Anthropic): ‘Yes’ @ $0.50
Anthropic has been leading the Best AI of 2026 board since early March. Claude also occupies three places in the Top 10 Agents board at Arena.ai (Claude Opus 5.5, Claude Fable 5.1, and Claude Sonnet 5.5). With a 50.2% chance of winning the prediction market, Anthropic therefore has several shots at the title.
While OpenAI is the big player for chatbots (it powers ChatGPT), Claude makes more money. That’s thanks to a more business-focused model that’s better at long-term problem-solving.
Anthropic released Claude Opus 5.5 last month and it currently tops the Arena.ai leaderboard for Best AI of 2026. Greater task efficiency, faster speeds, and high performance mean Anthropic are the company to beat.
Our pick: Claude to capture the title – Kalshi, $0.50
Gemini (Google): ‘Yes’ @ $0.38
Google’s Gemini AI lags in sixth place on the Arena.ai leaderboard. So why are Kalshi traders more optimistic about its chances of winning Best AI of 2026?
Gemini 4 Argon is hitting the news with some headline-grabbing achievements. This week it helped researchers crack a decades-long nuclear math problem. It’s shown its strength at multi-step problem solving, and it supports huge inputs (1-million-token context window).
Our pick: Can Google catch the big players? Kalshi, $0.38
ChatGPT (OpenAI): ‘Yes’ @ $0.08
OpenAI’s ChatGPT-5.6 Sol found one of the flaws in PHP this week. However, the AI firm has been working for months to address vulnerabilities in the language.
Website owners then sprung into action, using patches to fix the flaws and prevent any further hacks. Ironically, however, hackers were on the other end using AI to hack into vulnerable websites.
In terms of active users and web traffic, ChatGPT is the largest AI model around. Could that $0.08 share price be the serious value play?
Our pick: The big value pick – Kalshi, $0.08
The ‘Best AI of 2026’ still has time to run, and you have weeks to get your trades in. Check back this week for more analysis of trending markets.
