I spent three weeks using PrizePicks Predict's Team and Culture Picks to see how event contracts work inside the main app. The experience was different from typical prediction markets, mainly because everything runs through one interface instead of separate accounts.

Looking at the event contract model

Each question becomes a contract priced between 0 and 1, and you're buying yes or no based on what you think will happen.

How pricing works when you enter

Finding contracts worth entering
The Team and Culture boards organize contracts by category. I tapped the category filter (sports, politics, crypto, etc.) and the board refreshed with relevant markets in about a second. Each contract card displayed the question, current price, and countdown to when the market would close to new entries.
Tapping a contract opened the details screen. This is where I confirmed the exact outcome being predicted, the settlement source (official league stats, government data, etc.), and the resolution date. The screen also showed whether early payouts were available and what the current exit price would be if I wanted to sell my position.
What happens at checkout
Price movements between selection and checkout happened frequently on high-volume markets. The app caught this with a confirmation screen showing the updated price and asking me to accept or cancel. I liked this because it prevented me from accidentally entering at worse odds than I'd seen on the contract card.
Desktop access and screen comparison
I checked the desktop site to see if it offered any advantages over mobile. The Team & Culture board is accessible from the main page, and contract details display in a sidebar instead of a full-screen takeover. For quick position checks and entering single contracts, mobile was faster. For comparing multiple similar markets side-by-side (like different election outcomes or crypto price thresholds), desktop gave me more screen real estate to evaluate options without constant scrolling.
Money movement and withdrawal realities
Debit card deposits hit my account instantly. Bank account funding took longer on the first deposit (verification process) but sped up on repeat transactions. Standard PrizePicks withdrawal processing applies to your overall account balance, but early payouts on active contracts work differently.

If I wanted to close a position before settlement, the app displayed the current exit price based on market activity. Getting help when you need it
I contacted support twice about Predict-specific issues. Both times were through live chat in the app, and both times I got responses in under 4 minutes. I asked why the early payout button was greyed out on a contract I wanted to exit. The agent explained that market liquidity was too low for an early sale and linked me to the Predict terms page covering how early exits work. Response time was under 4 minutes, and the agent referenced my specific contract without me providing the contract ID. I also asked why PayPal wasn't appearing as a payment option when I tried to enter a Culture Pick. Why contract availability varies by state
Not every prediction category is available everywhere. Team Picks are available in 34 states, while Culture Picks reach 48 states. The difference comes down to state regulation. Some states that permit non-sports prediction markets still restrict sports-related contracts under gaming or fantasy sports laws. When you log in, the app geo-checks your location and shows only the contract types permitted in your state.
If Team Picks aren't allowed in your state but Culture Picks are, you'll only see the Culture board. If neither product is available, the Team & Culture section won't appear at all. PrizePicks Predict continues seeking regulatory approval in additional states, so availability can expand over time.
